Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a very solid Delft Blue on Black 1976 Triumph TR6 that is in need of a new home. It runs and drives great and just needs someone who can take the restoration to the next level. I bought it from the original owner about three years ago as a very complete and stock car. Since then I have spent considerable time and money on the improvements. I wouldn't part with it except for another project that has taken priority. Please read the entire description to completely appreciate it's true worth and to hopefully answer all your questions. The pluses: Interior: All new seat covers including new foam and diaphragms. Refurbished seat tracks. New carpeting and kick panels with sound deadening pads. New transmission and hand brake tunnel covers. New Triumph rubber floor mats. New shifter boot and sun visors. All new door seals and window fuzzies. Rebuilt original Kangol seat belts. Very nice original door panels and rear panels. Beautiful original wood dash with a great patina. Very nice crash pads and new dash knob set. A very rare "Triumph" Am-Fm radio (works but not hooked up). All gauges and interior lights work flawlessly. Even the horn and wipers work great. Exterior: New trunk and hood seals. New bonnet buffer kit. All original paint except the passenger door (original door). All lights and signals work great. Solid tub, floors, rockers, trunk, bonnet and trunk lid. Super nice original Goodyear G800 spare tire. Original jack and tools. Has the original reflective striped top that is still servicable as well as the original top boot and tonneau cover (zipper needs work). One full set of keys including ignition, trunk and doors (does not work glove box). Mechanicals: All new brake pads and flex lines. Rebuilt calipers and new rear cylinders. Rebuilt rear brake adjusters. Rebuilt clutch slave. New hoses and fan belt. New plugs, wires, up-rated distributor cap, up-rated rotor and Pertonix electronic ignition system including Pertronix coil. New radiator cap and water temp sending unit. Rebuilt fuel pump. Rebuilt original carburators including new cross shafts, seals and jets. Beautiful 1968 TR250 chrome valve cover with new gasket. New K&N chrome air cleaners. Recent valve adjustment and timing/tune adjustments. The frame has some minor rust scaling but nothing serious. It certainly didn't stop me from purchasing the car or proceeding with the restoration. The boxed main section and trailing arm legs are solid. Work done by previous owner: New clutch, throw out bearing and cross shaft. Refurbished fuel tank. Steering rack boots. I can't vouch for this work but it all appears correct. I purchased most of the parts through The Roadster Factory and receipts are available. Yes, I have the unbeleavably ugly front and rear over-rides (in great shape, including mounting hardward) and the equally awful smog equipmment (air pump, check valve, hoses and mounting hardware, minus the smog rail). Also included are the original valve cover and air cleaner as well as the front license plate bracket. Everything I removed was faithfully bagged and tagged and will be included with the car. Minuses: Will eventually need both rear quarter panels, right fender (I think the drivers side fender is salvagable), a passenger door skin and possibly some other minor panel work. Most of this can probably be repaired but with the British Heritage panels still readably available through Moss Motors or The Roadster Factory I was going to replace them. Panel rust is limited to external surfaces only. As stated earlier this car runs and drives strong. There are no unusual noises from the engine, transmission or rear end. Clutch and syncro's are strong. It starts easly every time, does not over heat and can be driven all day. Odometer shows 82000 miles and I beleive it to be accurate. This car would make a great project for someone who wants a car that is sound, well sorted, and has had a lot of the major work already done. It's ideal to enjoy as-is while you assemble the neccesary parts to bring it back to it's full glory. It is truly a worthy restoration candidate. You are incouraged to come take a look at the car prior to bidding. You will not be disappointed. I hold a clear and unemcumbered North Carolina title in my name. No trades considered. I will not disclose reserve or end the auction early. Vehicle is sold As-Is, Where-Is with no warranty expressed or implied. Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping costs of vehicle. A non-refundable deposit or $500 is required within 24 hours of the auction end. PayPal is OK for the deposit but the balance must be in the form of cash or a wire transfer to my bank. No PayPal, cashiers check or money order will be excepted for final payment. Pick up arangements will not be made until the deposit is paid. Car will not be released until funds have cleared my account. Non-payment will result in negative feedback (and lots of bad karma). Thank you, and good luck!
