Vehicle Detail
********** Re-listed due to non-paying bidder ***************************** This classic airhead motorcycle is a two cylinder boxer, four-stroke - cylinders are air cooled, and hang out on either side of the bike – Transmission is a shaft drive – Weighs 452 pounds, holds 6.34 gallons of gas with the bigger “toaster tank” - has an electric starter with a secondary kick starter and telescopic front forks. Mostly original condition not restored, needs paint / cosmetic updates or ride and enjoy as is. Has cafe racer bars and mirrors. All electrical is in good working condition, all lights and turn signals work and even the horn gives a pretty good squeak. I have three ignition keys ( one original key), battery tender connection installed and the bike comes with a battery tender. I have a clear title in hand. This is a matching numbers bike with original paint and chrome and some extras - Comes with a BMW helmet and repair and tune up manuals, original magazine article on the bike and a bike lock. I also have the original tool kit with some of the tools and a tool to adjust the shocks --- and it has an original air pump - but am not sure it works as looks pretty old - Recent work done at the BMW dealership 08/2011 includes: New --- BMW battery, Metzeler Lasertec Motorcycle Tires, Progressive Suspension Shocks, new gas lines, throttle cable, brake cables, spark plug, left and right grips and a carburetor sync --- as well as complete breakdown and overhaul of the engine – all seals and gaskets and fluids were replaced at that time. I have a receipt for all the work done total was $2500.00 --- I have put a lot of work and care into restoring the bike mechanically. The mileage is 67,473 – the guys at the shop said they believed this to be the original miles because the bikes engine looked so good inside that it was a good bet they were original miles – It is a nice little bike – and after all that work I find it a bit too heavy for me – So I am selling it to buy a smaller one. I am also taking it in to the BMW dealership this week to be sure the everything is in good working order. Thanks for looking.
