LOWERED RESERVE!!! Very rare and powerful 2000 E39 540i Touring (dont call it a station wagon)! These wagons are extremely sought after, especially ones with the 4.4L V-8, and the factory Sports Package. It has been serviced with many new parts and is ready to drive anywhere. It does have 170,300 miles on the odometer. Dont let the mileage scare you; these cars are known for their durability and are very capable of exceeding the 300,000 mile mark. The style and functionality of this model makes it a better choice than a regular sedan or gas guzzling SUV. If you want to be the envy of the European-car crowd, pick this 540i Touring and go drive! The engine is a 4.4L, DOHC, 32-valve V-8. The water pump/fan/heater hoses/thermostat/radiator cap have been replaced; air pump is new; accessory belt is new; the engine has a DINAN Performance intake kit, along with the required upgrades to the engine ECU. The transmission is a 5-speed Steptronic automatic; it has three different modes: standard, Sport and manual shift. The tranny 'learns' how you drive and adjusts itself to economy or aggressive driving, or anything in between. I see an average of 24MPG on the freeway and 18MPG in town. The car has 4-channel ABS, Traction Control/Roll Control, front and side airbags, Parking Assist, rain-sensing wipers, and full alarm system. Luxury options are many, but it does not have heated seats or the Navigation system. Besides that, just about every other common luxury item is found in this wagon. It has the electric Sports leather seats and the M Sport steering wheel, full wood trim, climate control, sunroof, sunshield glass, 10-speaker stereo, the rear seats are 40/60 split. The rear windows have built-in roller blinds (!), and the cargo area has a removable dog net and cargo cover. The tailgate opens two-ways: just the glass, or the whole hatch. This wagon came with the factory Sports suspension, which includes stiffer struts, bigger swaybars and 17-inch wheels, but it has been upgraded with DINAN Performance front struts and Eibach Sport swaybar. All four front control arms are new. The rear suspension is the factory self-leveling air suspension, and it works great. There are no knocks, or rattles of any kind. The exhaust system is in good condition. The tires have plenty of tread left and the wheels have been recently refinished. The paint and body are both in excellent condition, just a slight scratch on the M5-style front spoiler and a small ding on the plastic rear bumper. The paint is super glossy and there are no visible scratches, dings or nicks. The headlights are 'black' background projectors, clear side repeaters. All in all, this BMW wagon will not disappoint.
