Beautiful Colors and nicely equipped! Great car to have as a weekend driver! One of the most popular SLs ever produced was the R107. Much larger and 'softer', brimming with creature comforts and still directed at the same luxury-conscious clientele. While the previous model SL was nick-named the 'Pagoda', the R107 would be dubbed 'Der Panzerwagen' due to its reliability, strength and longevity - with some examples known to cover over a million miles without the removal of the heads. Offered here is a very original, one-owner example of the popular 450SL. According to the factory certicard the car was completed on 3/19/1979 and dispatched on 4/30/1979 to the SL’s lifetime owners. This 450 comes well optioned and fully equipped with all of the corresponding manuals, booklets, keys, hardtop (with stand) and accessories. The car has never been restored cosmetically and shows age in areas such as wear on the leather, paint scuffs and soft-window discoloration - although all electronics and mechanical components remain in excellent working order. The A/C is blowing but not cold so this should be addressed. A recent complete tune-up was commissioned in May of 2012 (years of servicing and registration receipts accompany). A solid Texas car for years of continued enjoyed as a nicely-preserved driver. Note: -The odometer stopped working after the car was pulled from storage last year; the actual mileage (slightly over recorded) is unknown. -The Hardtop case is large and will need to be shipped at the buyers expense. -Texas buyers will be required to pay State sales tax.
