1985 Honda Interceptor

In the late 1980's the Honda Interceptors defined what a comfortable, flashy and fast sports bike was. Simple to work on and extremely reliable, these later VF700F's were given praise for their all-around ability. Finding one in complete condition is nearly impossible, and locating one that is restored correctly is even harder. This bike is the 700cc version, a 1985 model that Honda put out for only one year to meet then current U.S. government import sanctions. This bike has been FULLY RESTORED; this means the entire bike was disassembled to the last bolt in order to inspect and refurbish it. The engine is in excellent running condition. The carburetors were rebuilt and the valves were adjusted to spec. The cams were checked and there appears to be no galling, meaning this motor does not Tick-Tick-Tick! New cooling system parts (thermostat, hoses, o-rings, etc.) were installed. The rest of the bike was cleaned, painted or powder-coated, lubed up and reassembled. The list of what was done is too long to be included in this description but it includes: rebuilt clutch/brake master cylinders, chain & sprockets, forks rebuilt, new battery, new tires, exhaust canisters, upholstered seat. Much effort was made to reuse as many of the original parts and hardware as possible. Even the original tool kit is included! Believe it or not, I also have the super-rare rear seat cowl painted and upholstered to match; it will be included with the bike if the Reserve is met. The body is in great condition with new paint and subdued graphics. The panels are painted inside and out. The windscreen is aftermarket as well as the front turn signals. Every single warning light works, and she has passed N.C. state inspection and is ready to ride. She is currently on the road, meaning mileage may vary, and she's for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I am a small, one-man restoration/dealer in NC, and as such, must pay NC tax on this bike if sold to someone in NC. Please take this into account when you bid--I will have to collect NC tax! I will not charge any other fee to the buyer. I can help with packing/getting the bike ready for shipment if you are out of state, but the buyer is fully responsible for all fees regarding shippping.
