Vehicle Detail

HEADING 60 Chevy El Camino pickup truck factory AC 3 speed tranny. V8 Very unique 1960 EL Camino factory AC not after market, standard 3 speed tranny (3 on the tree) here is the strange part no PS or PB. As far as I know it’s a New Mexico car and the original owner did a lot of high way driving and wanted AC and didn’t need PS or PB. The engine is a 283 believed to be the original v8. Checking the No, the engine is a late 59 and the El Camino is an early 60. I understand that back in the day the end run of V8s where put in the early next production cars???? Your guess is as good as mine. The engine is completely rebuilt new clutch, new or rebuilt engine parts, water pump, gen starter etc. The engine has 0 miles on it and about 30 minutes running time. New brakes new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, new tires (only used to push the El Camino around the garage). New mag wheels, don’t know the manufacture. New duel exhaust. The AC needs a condenser and dryer, may need something else but after market will work. As you can see from the pictures it has the heavy-duty radiator and fan shored. New paint, new interior, seats, carpet, headliner the dash is immaculate, the radio is AM and not working. I took pictures of the bed with the sub floor removed so you could see that there wasn’t any rust or ever was. This is a troublesome spot for rust and a lot of people will replace it with wood or some other material. The windshield and door glass are new the rear glass is original. New chrome bumpers, tail and parking lights as well as the bezels. Removable grant steering wheel (nice insurance policy) I looked at the under carage and didn’t see any rust. This maybe the only 60 El Camino sold with factory AC standard tranny and no PS or PB. I’m not the owner of this el Camino. I’m selling it for the wife of a friend of mine who passed on. He worked and puttered around on it for 10 years, a little there a little here. I helped some what and she asked if I would get it running and sell it for her. I put what I thought was the original crab on it. After running the oil pump to circulate the oil, it started right up and sounds great. It was never his goal to build a trailer queen or a show car, he just wanted a driver to get a lot of thumbs up an high fives. I think he achieved it. If you have any questions, just email her at her eBay address and I will answerer the questions. She is selling it “as is” where is no warrantee or guarantee. I did find the El Camino scrip but I believe it’s for another year. She has the clear title in her name. The buyer is required to pay $1000.00 deposit immediatly through PayPal at the close of the sale/auction. I will accept a bank issued cashier's check by PayPal and can arrange shipping via my car trailer. My El camino is currently located in New Mexico. On Sep-20-12 at 13:08:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi, I'm the person who is helping xxcc11 to sell her 60 El Camino. Someone emailed and suggested a man, in most cases will have a better understanding about a car than most women. The question in the email was; what would I do if it were my car and was going to keep it? Exterior; I would change the chrome strip on the right side, it has a crack in it and can be seen in the photo on the right side. I would also put original El Camino script on the fenders. Interior; I would get the AC working and add a power brake booster to it and add an after market radio-AM FM CD. Engine; I would put a 427 HP engine in it with a 4 speed, cut a hole in the floor and add a floor shifter, but thats what I would do. It also needs some tweeking because it was only started and I never drove it nor has anyone else, that's what she wanted. I hope that answers your questions. thanksOn Sep-22-12 at 07:57:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi, Some one emailed me concerning the car and its engine performance and why we didn't drive it. We don't currently have it licensed or insured. The car runs great, it has a brand new engine and anyone who would like to purchase the car can drive it. We kept our driving of the car "locally", as in our neighborhood so we wouldn't have any issues with the lack of plates etc. Hope that clears up any questions as to the engine performance.
