Vehicle Detail
I purchased this 79 MD Midget in May 2012 for $1400.00. I have installed a new starter, electric fuel pump, and gas regulator. I also installed a new radio and HD Radio adapter. The car runs good however it floods after driving so I believe the carburator needs to be cleaned or adjusted. If you let it set a while after turning it off it has no problem starting back up. There is no smoke but the exhaust smells like it is running rich. The transmissions shifts good through all gears however there is a slight grinding sound when backing up and a little in first gear. There are fluid leaks and the car will need to be painted. The previous owner used a brillo pad on the paint to remove sap. It also looks like some break fluid got on the paint as shown in the pictures. The only rust I can see on the car is on the hood framework over the battery. This is only on the bottom of hood and can't be seen on the top of hood. I believe it is better to be honest up front so there will be no bad feelings later. I have set a minium price of $1200.00 so my lost is your gain. The reason I'm selling it is to buy Christmas presents. This car would make a great father and son restoration project or a good parts car. On Sep-16-12 at 11:14:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to questions received I added two new pictures to show the hood rust. I also notice a small amount starting to form under the right headlight and turn signal. This could correced with some light sanding and primmer/touch up paint until the car gets painted.
