Vehicle Detail

For sale this 1966 lincoln continental convertible.Triple black this is the most classic car and color combo you can get. This car is looks and runs great. This is what I have done recently.- the top canvas was replaced and the entire convertible top done by Curtis at 60's lincoln repair he tested and replaced electrical components, motors and hydraulics. Adjusted and aligned top to pristine working condtion. the top does work from inside and exterrior key by fuel door .Replaced both scissor switches in rear doors ( rear windows will drop when entering the vehicle with the top up to prevent top damage ).C6 transmission was recently overhauled by Art Carr (performance transmission) less than 3 months ago.The interior seats carpet and all wood panels have been redone. all windows work and are operational from all window switches.Engine is in good running condition I drive this vehicle 100 miles round trip a few days a week to work. I recently had cylinder heads removed and gone through, replaced leaking valve stem seals and performed valve job, I also had both motor mounts replaced, new power steering pump installed, overhauled gear box. This car is the real deal- serious head turner no matter where you are. The paint on this car was done about 6 years ago and is ok condition . any questions please feel free to email me. On Sep-14-12 at 17:48:06 PDT, seller added the following information: OK guys, I have received many questions about the car. I am going to go into more detail for you all. This is one of the most attention getting cars I have ever owned...and I have had about 75 cars so far. The car combines the classic "Entourage" black suicide door drop top look with a little better set up. The vehicle is dropped 3 inches with Jamco springs....the best in the business. The car rides so nice and still has that awesome "soap bar" look. Rolling on radial wide whites, not that poly bias ply crap that follows every rut in the road. New shocks went with the springs for that Lincoln smooth ride quality. This is no heated spring deal that rides like a lowered car. Brand new leather seats. Not that vinyl look alike stuff. Brand new carpet. All of the window switches are either new or rebuilt. If you know these cars, you know how many switches this beast has. The scissor switches in the rear windows are new and those windows drop 6 inches like they should when you open the doors. The wood panels on each door have been custom crafted by a fine finish carpenter. They are real walnut veneer with a high gloss like you would see on a Jaguar or Mercedes Benz. The top is a new canvas version and the entire motor and transmission assembly has been rebuilt and replaced with new parts. The hydraulic pump, lines, and cylinders are all new. The chrome is very nice with the bumpers and grille looking fresh as the day she was born. The steering wheel column is rebuilt and tilt. If you know these cars, you know the 1966 model tilt is a rare bird, and pretty damned cool. The cylinder heads were pressure tested and machined by a well-known machine guy who specializes in drag cars and other high precision vehicles. New exhaust manifolds are attached to those heads. Complete new stainless exhaust system all the way out back. Sounds awesome. New power steering pump and steering gear box. Again, if you know these cars, you know the pump is $600 alone! The transmission was rebuilt by the famous Art Carr. If you don;t know the name, google it. He sold his business (and name) back in the late 90's and those crooks destroyed his credibility and retirement package. He re-opened a few years ago in Huntington Beach again under a different name but he is still the real Art Carr that made the name what it is. Bottom line is this is a real piece of art. Too many compliments to tell. Every time I roll it into a high end resort, THEY ASK ME if they can park it up front. I come out and people are taking pictures next to it. Be prepared for the attention.
