Up for auction today is a nice 2003 ford escape with a very rare five-speed manual transmission. The ford escape was voted the SUV of the year yet again, and for good reason. It is equipped with one of the best engines ford has ever produced. It gets great mpg (we were getting close to 30 mpg) and it dosen't lack power, it also has one of the lowest maintance costs in it's class. The escape is a great all around vehicle with a roomy interior and great mpg. The reason I am selling this escape is my wife just bought a brand new escape. I was planning on keeping it to 200,000 miles but she found a deal she couldn't pass up so this escape has to go. The motor and transmission are both very strong, and most of the miles on it are highway miles (I live 60 miles one way from work). Overall this is a clean escape you will have trouble finding a 2003 that is cleaner in ohio. The interior I would give a 9 out of 10. There isn't any tears in the seats at all and the carpet is very clean. There is a few minor stains on the passanger floor, it looks like coffee might have spilled a little. The back seats are very clean also. It looks like if you were to shampoo the interior it would be at near perfect condition. The radio works well and the air blows ice cold!! All of the windows are in good condition open and close with ease, and the power locks all work. The exterior is in good shape also for the age. There is a small dent on the drivers door and a scratch on the upper rear hatch. The paint still shines very well and plastic isn't faded. There is some minor bubbling over the rear wheels as shown in pics, and also a small imperfection on the hood. Overall the body is not in bad shape at all, and it looks very good. Underneath the truck still shows the factory paint. The rockers and under the door show zero rust and look good. It did have some recent new parts installed. Both of the rear tires along with front pads and rotors have been installed in the last 2000 miles!! Both of the front cv's were replaced about 15,000 miles ago. This is not a new vehicle so it does have some few issues. The airbag light usually comes on after the car has been running a minute or two. It will beep once or twice and then come on and usually after about five minutes it will go off. Also there is a humming in the front end it almost sounds like tire humming and a slight rattle you can hear when hood is up. One of the front tires will need replaced in the next 5000 miles so that could be the problem. It does cruise nicely and highway speeds and dosent pull all at. Blue book on this is $4100 and I am selling for far less since is does have some minor issues. I have tried to explain this to the best of my ability but please come and look at it for yourself.
