Vehicle Detail
There is a photo album at: http://s1253.beta.photobucket.com/user/F1502wdforsale/library/This truck has been my daily driver for the last 12 years. I commute on a combination of freeway and surface streets. I used it on the weekends to tow toys like jet skis and for home projects. It drives very good. I replaced most of the front suspension a few years back and have greased everything at every oil change. It has BF Goodrich All-terrain tires in good shape. They work well in the winter, I never really got stuck. I replaced the front brakes (pads and rotors), bearings, shocks and suspension links this spring. Years ago I added leaf springs in the rear and went to a thicker gage spring in front, so it could handle larger loads. The engine runs well but, there has been a check engine light on for a while now. It's P1451, which has to do with a solenoid in the vapor system. This is usually a short in the wires, but I haven't been able to find it. The truck still runs good and gets 15-17 mpg, so I haven't looked for it very hard. The engine does use some oil. I usually do oil changes every 5K and I'll add a couple of quarts in between. It seems like it seeps some in the front of the engine and probably burns a little. However, it doesn't drip on the driveway and doesn't really put out smoke, so I'm not really sure. It has done this for years. The exhaust should be replaced; it has a custom exhaust with no mufflers right now, so there's no rush because it's not any louder. I'm sure a muffler shop could put a regular exhaust on too.The interior is in fair shape. The original Ford leather seats didn't hold up very well, but I got some seat covers for it last winter. They work good and don't look bad. The air works good. It has power locks, windows, auto-lights and an am/fm cassette player with a 6-disc CD changer. Most things work, the cruise control doesn't. It has 4-wheel anti-lock brakes that work and there are no airbag lights. There is some rust behind the doors on the bottom of the cab and the box. Most of it is on the passenger side. The paint on the hood is chipped up pretty good. The inside of the box had a painted on bedliner that is wearing out, but it does stop stuff from sliding around still. There is also some rust in the bed, see the pics for more on all of this. It includes a crossover toolbox.
