1961 Volkswagen Camper Bus with walk through front seating. This camper bus is a very nice driver. It was completed in 2009. The body and paint on the is bus is very presentable. It was painted the original dove blue in 2008. All new Wolfsburg West rubber seals were installed at that time along with Izz's safari windows and early safari wiper pivots. Also included is a reproduction Westfalia roof rack. The bus also has an awning/tent. The interior of this bus is really nice! The camper kit was made from patterns of what was left of the original and some of my own design. It is unknown which company originally converted this bus into a camper. The rear seat/bed uses the hardware from a later Westfalia. A seat belt has been added for the rear seat. All new foam was used. It is very comfortable. The front part of the interior retains its original appearance. The front seats were covered in the correct gray material. The door, kick and roof panels are from Wolfsburg West. The steering wheel was restored but has started to crack again. The engine is a 1600 single port that runs really good. Mileage on this engine is unknown. New oil cooler seals have been installed. It has a header and custom exhaust. The exhaust is quiet . The heater works well. The transaxle shifts smooth. Mileage is also unknown. Both engine and transaxle were in the bus when I got it. Complete 12 volt conversion. New Bosch alternator, starter, wiper motor converted, H-4 headlights, 12 volt choke on carburetor, horn and all the light bulbs. New flywheel, clutch and optima battery. Everything works as it should. The front end has 1964-67 front brakes with dropped/flipped spindles and a Wagenswest 4" narrowed beam with needle bearings. The rear has a straight axle kit with bug brakes and early bus drums. Wagenswest dog legged adjustable spring plates have been added. KYB GR2 shocks all around. Nice riding and not harsh. All new brakes, parking brake works. The wheels are 15X5 raders. Front tires are 175/55r15 and the rears are 185/65r15.
