I have up for auction here a beautiful 1997 Mercury Cougar with the XR7 trim package. This car boasts the venerable 3.8L V6 backed by a smooth shifting 4spd automatic overdrive transmission. The XR7 package trims this car out with leather seats, power locks, power windows, power mirrors, cruise control, factory CD player (which has been changed out to an aftermarket Pioneer unit), factory speaker upgrade, and an upgraded suspension package. As you can see from the photos this car is in very good condition, it sports a couple of minor bumps and bruises but has been a remarkably dependable vehicle overall. This vehicle belonged to my recently deceased grandmother who had faithfully loved and respected this car for as long as I can remember. She never drove it in the rain, and winter was out of the question. She even had a car cover for it that I will included in the auction, if so desired, that she used to cover it in the winter. I also as a gift to her installed a lock override switch (can be seen in the last photo, near gas filler neck) this allowed her to pull the gas cap and press this button if she ever locked herself out of the car, which she seemed to do quite often. All four tires on this vehicle are nearly brand new (1k miles max), it runs out like a champ, has never left anyone stranded, always had Amsoil synthetic fluids run throughout (we have an Amsoil dealer in the family), and was never abused or mishandled, all four sway bar end links are brand new, brake pads on all four corners were just replaced, and the front upper A-arms and ball joints are also brand new. This is just a solid dependable automobile for someone who I hope enjoys it as much as she did. She always kept diligent records of service and mileage and this car always produced in the neighborhood of 25-28 MPG, so this is certainly a viable daily commuter car, and it has excellent crash ratings making it a good starter car for a youngster as well. This car is not in perfect condition, but that is to be expected of a vehicle that has served dutifully for 15 years. The photos tell the story, ask any questions you may have. Know that here are zero mechanical flaws with this vehicle. I am willing to work with the buyer on meeting part way to pick up the vehicle (within reason). $500 is due through Paypal within 48hours of the auction ending.
