Vehicle Detail
Nice 1985 Nissan 720, standard transmission, 4X4. Truck appears to have been well taken care of by its previous owners. The odometer reads slightly over 61,000 but I'm not sure if the instrument cluster was replaced previously. It has a clear Oklahoma title and has minimal rust issues, mainly on the rear passenger's side rear well. These trucks are not seen around as much as the king cabs, I really hate to attempt to sell it because I had been waiting for a long time to get a hold of a single cab 4X4 but I just have more than enough cars to deal with at this time. The truck does not appear to have any body work done anywhere and the original paint is still presentable, I don't think it has ever been in an accident. All the A/C components seem to be all there but it's currently not working, the interior is not too bad but the dashboard has a small area that's cracked and the driver's side seat is torn and it shows some wear on the springs, it has a working aftermarket Ford radio installed in the middle console. The truck runs good and picks up speed nicely, no engine knocks, overheating, smoking or leaks. The guy I bought it from bought it in Oklahoma in a non running condition due to a bad carburetor. He hauled it down here and removed the carburetor, cleaned it and got the truck running. The main issue with the truck is that it idles high, there are some vacuum lines that are not plugged in and the timing is probably off, I tried adjusting the carburetor with its adjusting screw and played with the distributor's position, the idle speed came down some but still is slightly above the normal, it does not have a factory tachometer so I cannot determine the actual RPM's, it's not that high but it is above where it should be, driving it down the road does not affect it, in fact you would not even know that it has the idle issue but once the truck is in neutral, the idle goes up. I think replacing the factory carburetor with an aftermarket one and doing away with some of the vacuum lines, the truck would run great. If the high idle does not bother you, the truck could be driven the way it is. At least one tire will need to be replaced, it has a bulged area and its felt when driving the truck over 45mph, the battery is not holding charge. I honestly think this truck could be driven away in its current condition once the tire and battery are replaced but keep in mind that it's an older truck and I have not driven it on long trips, just locally. The steering seems to be a little hard but I don't think this truck had the power steering option. Will ask for a nonrefundable deposit with the buy it now option and if the auction runs its full course, will need a nonrefundable deposit from the winning bidder within 48 hours. I will assist with shipping if it's necessary as long the truck is fully paid for, the truck gets picked up here locally, the buyer pays for and arranges the shipping. On Aug-26-12 at 19:42:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked if the title is under me name, I have an Oklahoma clear and fully transferable title but it's not under my name, I can provide the potential buyer buyer with a bill of sale from my end, along with its title. I have also brought down the buy it now price $300.00, as well as the reserve but I'll be honest, It's not that far off from the very reasonable price of the buy it now price. On Aug-26-12 at 19:45:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry but I forgot to mention that the truck will also be advertised locally at the new buy it now price so if it sells locally and its reserve has not been met by then, I reserve the right to end the listing. On Aug-27-12 at 19:59:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's an update on the truck, I took the battery to get it checked this past weekend and it checked out okay, the reason why I was assuming it was a battery issue is because when the engine is cold, it seems to turn over slow and sometimes takes a couple if attempts before it starts, once it's warm, the issue seems to resolve. I will then assume that the starter may be going out in the near future or it could be something as simple as a bad ground wire leading to the starter. I also forgot to mention that the oxygen sensor warning light is on at the dashboard, I guess since it's been running with the idle issue and unconnected vacuum lines for an unknown period, the oxygen sensor is being triggered. I apologize for not mentioning this warning light but I honestly forgot about so I did want to mention it and since the reserve of $1050.00 has not been met yet, I guess I'm still within compliance, again I apologize to the members that have place bids on the truck before knowing this fact about the sensor.
