Vehicle Detail

1974 Ford F-250 Crew Cab 4X4 Short Bed This honest old 4-door truck has not been modified, and retains it's original 360ci, V8 engine with 2bbl, and 4-Speed manual transmission. There is no structural rust, and only minimal surface rust on the drive shaft, and back side of the drum brakes. Drives perfectly straight down the highway, comfortable at 70MPH. One of the best things about this pickup, it NEVER overheats...ever. Runs with the needle at just under half-way between "C" and "H" always. Replacement Ford AM/FM/Cassette dates roughly to the mid 80's. Has a first class, brand new goose-neck setup in the bed, professionally installed. It was repainted a while back, and the paint and body work done was driver-quality, at best. Truck is stock height, no lift kit. Some highlights of the recent investments/ improvements made include: New OEM replacement seat upholstery.New OEM rubber floor.New OEM-style tires, mud & snowNew tailgate New shocks on all 4 corners.New exhaust/ mufflers Rebuilt transfer caseNew LineX bedlinerRecent major tune upI bought this truck to enjoy, and drive our kids around here in Colorado. Looked and looked for a Crew Cab, 4X4, short bed without rust. It was a long search, more than 5 years, before this one became available. Every pickup I found that was configured like this had been used to death, rusted out, an beat. I also saw several trucks restored perfectly and sold at north of $30,000. This Ford, well, it apparently lived in New Mexico before it moved to Texas. The lack of salt or snow certainly helped it hold together well. While the photos show the condition well, it's important to note the engine leaks from the rear main seal. The transfer case was rebuilt completely, is fresh as a daisy, and works flawlessly. This pickup is a great driver. Heater works perfectly, manual windows all work perfectly, and the transmission shifts perfectly. It's not a show truck, but it's a rare configuration, with the 4X4 and 4-door, with the short bed. Rarer yet, when you realize there is no rust. I believe this pickup is well represented by the photos, and was told the sub-80K miles are original. Not sure about that, but judging by the wear to the door jambs, the driver wore cowboy boots, and got in and out of the truck every 4 miles. It was on ranches for it's first and second round of service. I'm available to answer questions by phone, but am out of town until this Sunday, August 26th. Feel free to call or text: 303-71EIGHT-9FOUR8ZERO. Please see my feedback to verify integrity. I would feel comfortable driving this truck to any corner of the U.S.A. from Colorado. I would absolutely bring a handful of cassette tapes for the drive. This is a no-reserve auction, and the high bid will own this vehicle. Happy to pick up the winning bidder at Denver International Airport. PLEASE come inspect and drive the truck without obligation. It's parked inside my warehouse in Louisville, Colorado, and I can arrange to have my wife or one of our employees to organize a test drive while I'm out of town. SHIPPING: I'm happy to help with this, and have bought most of our old vehicles out of town. It was going to cost $750 to ship this from Texas when we bought it. We drove it instead, 1,050 miles, but that gives you an idea of what it will cost to ship based on the miles. Thanks for your interest and bid. -Adam On Aug-27-12 at 14:50:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for your interest, and several bidders asked for photos of the rain gutters, and wanted to see some of the paint loss on the truck. Also, there were a few requests for the VIN tag....here we go! I failed to mention in the listing, this truck has 2 fuel tanks, and the main is about 18 gallons, and the aux tank is less than 10 gallons. Thanks again for your interest and bids, and if you would like more photos, please email me and I'll reply with the requested images. Adam@AdamsPolishes(dot)com On Aug-28-12 at 10:09:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to include a photo of the bed of this truck! Sorry for the oversight, and please email me for a photo: Adam@adamspolishes(dot)com. I will reply quickly with the photograph, and others of the underside, and anything else you would like to see. Thank you.
