CONDITION OF VEHICLE: This car is in good working order overall. Mileage is original at approx 89,000. Original drivetrain. Engine was overhauled around 1996 at about 60,000 miles. No hood liner (removed recently). Recently replaced fuel pump, and tune-up, LOF, coolant flush performed. Newer springs (all 4). California A.I.R. pump has been removed from engine, but is with vehicle. Transmission gasket has started to leak over the past few years due to decrease in vehicle usage. Engine shows sign of oil seepage. Brake/fuel lines in good condition with NO leaks. Rear differential in good condition with NO leaks. Seats and door panels and hardware are original with no rips or broken parts, some discoloration in spots. Door armrests have been recovered only. Dash has no cracks. Carpet on floor is newer. Convertible top and tonneau cover are newer and all snaps work perfect. Power seat, antenna, decklid release, and top works great. Original AM radio is not installed (in trunk), and the front speaker is not original, rear speaker is original. An AM-FM-CD player is mounted in glove box and works fine (included w/vehicle.) Glove box liner removed, but is with vehicle. There is also a converter mounted under seat for stereo. The clock doesn’t work. Heater , fans and vents work great. Underhood and trunk lights work. Most of the rubber moldings and weatherstrips are cracked and needs to be replaced. Some new rubber parts in trunk. As far as the body, yes there is some rust. The worst being in front and rear of the wheel wells, caused by the drain holes from convertible being plugged with debris, and living near the ocean. There is minor surface rust in various areas, but would consider this to be VERY minor for it’s age and being in the midwest for 12 years, where condensation from extreme temperature flexuations has started to affect it, like the undercoating is starting to dry out and peel in various areas. Brakes are good, tires have lots of tread, but should be replaced due to LF wheel hub replaced and one tire was subject to being out of round – still good, just has small vibration. Hub caps are original and in good condition. All exterior and interior chrome moldings need rechromed, but there are some new chrome parts in trunk. Bumpers need to be rechromed, but are in excellent shape. Car runs and looks good and we have enjoyed many car shows and drives in the country. What makes this vehicle a bit more rare, is the California A.I.R. Additional photos available. BRIEF HISTORY: Purchased new by attorney in San Francisco, California as an extra vehicle, driven in the Los Angeles area. In the 1980's, the owner tried to sell at a car lot, but because it was white, the owner was talked into painting it red to sell better, and it still didn't sell, so he kept it. Then he sold to his son-in-law in San Diego in 1995 as everyday driver, car moved to Virginia in 1998, then sold in 1999 to his sister (current owner) in Michigan, where it has been garage kept since. NOTE: Original owner made a statement that Nixon rode in this vehicle during a political campaign parade in 1966 in San Fran, but no formal affidavit was obtained. No research was made on the internet to obtain any evidence. Good project there! It would be nice to have a photo of that!!! Buyer responsible for shipping/pick-up. Buyer to pay $500 down upon purchasing vehicle, balance due when vehicle is picked up. If buyer does not pick-up vehicle within 7 days of purchase, buyer forfeits $500 downpayment. Seller will be available any time of day for vehicle pick-up. Car is located at a storage facility and can be accessed by freight truck if necessary.
