Vehicle Detail
Selling to the highest bid we have a 1968 Ford 250 Ranger Camper Special. This classic truck is in great original condition. For sale by the second owner, it still has its original paint and most trim. As you can see in the pictures, this old truck is still in great shape. No structural rust that I could find, and only a few spots of surface rust. She runs and drives, and was a daily driver until a few months ago. The odometer shows 40,773 miles, add 100k as its been around once. It is equipped with a 390 V-8, automatic transmission, and factory A/C. The tires on it are worn, with cords showing on one tire. The interior is very nice for its age. The factory AM radio is still in the dash, and works. The seat is rough under the cover shown in the pictures. Overall, this truck is very sound with a few exceptions. The motor starts easily, but there is a knock that I would check out before running it alot. The front suspension cross-beams need new bushings. Those are the only major issues I found anywhere on the truck. Small items I noticed were holes drilled in the front fenders for marker lights, which are no longer there, and the drivers side inside door handle is missing. The windshield has cracks as seen in the pictures. There are 2 fuel tanks, one under the bed, and one behind the seat. One more interesting bit of character... There is what looks to be a bullet hole in the hood. I couldn't find any damage or signs that the bullet went into the engine compartment. It was there when the current owner purchased the truck, and he didn't get the story! I am listing this truck for a friend of mine. As mentioned earlier, he is the second owner of this truck. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Feel free to email me, or you can call me at 970-456-6361, ask for Bear. If you email, it may take a day for me to get an answer to you. Details... we will need a $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction close. The balance is due in cash or certified funds within 7 days. We can store the truck up to 30 days if you need time to pick it up or arrange shipping. Delivery may be possible, please email or call to discuss BEFORE the auction ends. This listing is No Reserve, the truck will sell to the highest bidder. A personal note from me, the lister. Guys, this truck is a rare thing these days. I have not seen an original truck this nice in a long time. I am a truck mechanic, and went over this vehicle like I was going to buy it. It really is in great shape for a 68. The motor appears to be the factory original, but I didn't run the numbers to verify. I would definitely check out the knock in the motor. Its my guess that its either a stuck valve or possibly a rod bearing going out. Thats only a guess... would have to get inside it to be sure. The suspension looks to be an easy fix. Those items would make it a great daily driver as is. For those looking for a restoration project, you would be hard pressed to find a better prospect. Feel free to contact me if you would like details not listed, something specific looked at, or pictures of something not shown. Good luck to all, and happy bidding!! Posted with the eBay Android app
