Now being offered for auction is a 1948 Ford Resto-Rod built in 2007 by Oral Lawrence Rods. The '48 spent the first 60 years of its life in the South, mainly Alabama. It was a complete dry, solid, rust free driving car before being restored and transformed. The stock body and frame have all been retained and modified to modern standards. The paint is done in Basecoat/Clearcoat.The interior was fully redone in a soft and supple leatherette. It was done with Tahoe bucket seats but the factory front seat in its original style black cloth fabric also comes with the car. I have driven the car with the original bench seat and I think it looks best. The paintwork shows very well and has a deep shine as seen in the pictures. It does have a few stone chips and scuffs from being driven. The underside of the car is done in black and remains undetailed as it was built to be driven and not trailered. The '48 has been driven approx. 23,000 miles since it was built. It goes down the road very well and is a hit around town or at streetrod events. It has won many awards and picks at local cruises. Everything on the car runs and operates as it should except for the following: powers windows go up slow, very faint hairline crack on pass. window, small 2" wear mark on drivers window and one of the directional indicators on dash is out. (directionals both work) It needs very little.
