Vehicle Detail
1915 Model T Ford Pickup Truck"Barn Fresh" But in Excellant Mechanical Condition We are offering for auction my fathers 1915 Model T Ford Pickup truck which is in excellant running condition. My father is 86 years old and his physical condition prevents him from driving and enjoying this truck, so he has decided to let someone else have some fun with it now. He purchased this truck from a gentleman in Albany, New York back in the spring of 2005, who as were told aquired the truck through a family estate situation locally in New York State. This Gentleman was a auto mechanic by trade and went through the truck mechanically but did not want to restore it cosmetically so as not to ruin the original "patina". You can see evidence of the mechanical work quite easily, such as new bushings and bearings on the front end, new tires on the rear end, fresh gasket sealer on some of the engine parts from the engine rebuild, and so on. After driving this vehicle I have no doubt that it was gone through completely. We have 3 model T's here and this truck puts the other two to shame performance wise. It starts in one or two flips of the crank, and purrs like a kitten right off the bat, and is definately the fastest Model that I have ever driven. The transmission works smooth, easy, and quiet as well. From what I can tell of this truck it appears to have had a "fix up" many years ago at which time someone set it up to appear like an old handyman's truck or something to that effect. The milk can, glass bottles and old tool box in the bed are all fastened down with either a bolt or some silicone adhesive. I found this out when I removed an old nail keg from the right hand side in order to install the temporary battery box and new battery a couple of weeks ago. The silicone adhesive peeled right off the bed when I took the nail keg out so I would have no concerns about damage if you wanted to remove these items. The truck is titled as a 1915 and appears to be so,..but by serial number the engine is a 1922 which is fairly common in these old vehicles especially when you consider the old girl is 97 years old. The original Brass radiator that came with it was really rough and the core was shot so i aquired another original radiator which is identical but in good usable condition and installed it on the truck. There is one tiny little pin hole in the bottom, right at the return neck which only leaks a little when the truck is running and the radiator has pressure on the system. Otherwise when it's just sitting there it does not leak at all. This should be an easy fix for a radiator shop or someone who is good at soldering. I can't think of anything else to tell you about it at the moment so please revue the pictures and ask any questions you may have and I will do my best to get you an accurate answer. This vehicle is located in northern Michigan near Mackinaw City (zip 49755) Payment & Shipping: I would like a $ 500.00 non refundable deposit thru Paypal within 48 hours of the auction ending, but final payment is flexible and can be taken care of at the time of pickup. If you are going to have a transport shipper pick the vehicle up, all final payment must be taken care of before they arrive to get it, and funds must clear my bank prior to this time. ***Miliage is not correct, ebay forced me to put something in for it.****Best of luck to all the bidders and please feel free to ask questions prior to bidding so you know what you are getting. Thanks, Tom,
