Apart from new flat-face hubcaps and a still-larger coupe backlight, the Cs were visual twins to the Bs. Even so, constant improvement was again quite evident - including more horsepower and the arrival of standard four-wheel disc brakes. *Great test drive Video - type "1964 Porsche DriverSource" into YOUTUBE search. The C Cabriolet is considered the most refined open car in the entire 356 class, and this solid Texas car is no exception. The Porsche displays nice driver-quality cosmetics typical of a carefully stored and maintained early 1990's complete restoration. It is finished in its factory original colors of Ruby Red over Black leather (very rare, since most 356's came with Leatherette) interior. Additional accessories include Nardi steering wheel, headlight grills, hood and full tonneau covers. The Cabriolet still wears its correct body number stamped engine and bonnet lids. This is a very early C Cabriolet with a 1963 build date on the COA. *A mechanically excellent well sorted example! A strong numbers-matching engine supplies good power to a smooth transaxle resulting in outstanding road manners. All lights, wipers, radio, VDO clock and gauges, are working as they should. Included with the sale are 25 years of records including a detailed log of the full restoration completed from 1987-1991. The restoration carried out by S.C. Auto Restoration INC. included a complete rebuild of the engine, brakes, paint, and interior. Today the car is no longer "concours" but a very nice driver. The transmission feels a bit loose and it will eventually need new shifter bushings to tighten it up (something our service dept can do), otherwise it feels very tight and responsive. The underside is very nicely detailed and shows NO signs of corrosion. In the engine bay the engine is correct and very nicely detailed. All body gaps and panel fit are even and straight, there are only some minor paint imperfections due to the age of the restoration.
