Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 2 Dr Sedan (Post). Please read the shipping directions clearly. If you don't have a way to pick it up or can't have it shipped to your address please don't bid on the car. I purchased this car earlier this year with the intent of doing it my way but a change of job status at the end of April which now has me unemployed due to physical reasons now makes it much harder for me financially to do what I want to do with this car so reluctantly, I need to let it go. Please understand that this car needs metal work but even with the issues it has, it does have some strong points. Please look at the pictures closely. It does need metal work but in the typical Mopar rust areas to include the lower rocker panels (inner and outer), quarter panel areas, trunk floor (a new AMD trunk floor comes with the car but not installed, see pics), and rust areas in the rear window areas and dutch panel and the trunk lip area. Whether you think it was good or bad, a previous owner had already had the car media blasted to bare metal, and started to remove some of the damaged rust areas but then didn't finish the task. Again, view the pics and you will see all of that. I have not done any of the work to this car. As I stated, I purchased it only months ago and have not had a chance to touch it, but financial issues will keep me from doing anything for a little while so maybe someone can take it and "git er dun"! The car has been under cover or stored inside since it was stripped and then black and yellow primer thrown on it by the previous owner. This is aircraft primer however and will need to be removed. The previous owner was an aircraft mechanic and did a lot of the work at a shop at an airport! As you can see in the pictures I was surprised by the integrity of the floor pans inside the vehicle. The carpet was still in the car but when I pulled it back to take the pics the floors having been media blasted were actually pretty solid. Someone has done some patch work in the front of the floor pan on both the drivers and passenger sides as the pictures show. I would probably have that redone with AMD pans but that is up to you. The rest of the floor pans all the way back to the trunk floor look really good. The trunk floor absolutely needs replaced and as stated a new AMD split trunk floor (about a $350.00 purchase) comes with the car. Pics of the underside of the car show that the floor pans forward of the trunk look good. The car has a new Addco suspension kit installed in it already, also done by previous owner. This includes new sway bars, tubular A arms I believe, etc. The 8 3/4 rear end has been stripped and repainted (by previous owner but is an open axle not posi. The rear quarters need some work, and again depending on the quality of the person who does the metal work a decision to fix or replace would need to be made. There is a small dent on the roof about the size of a golfball, but nothing a good body man can't deal with quickly. Fenders and hood are in good shape but all need TLC and work. I'm not sure what the deal is with the left front drivers fender. It has the 69 rectangular marker in it, but right behind that is a round hole. I haven't checked the location by measurements to see if someone used a 68 fender here but it would seem if you did it would still eliminate the 68 hole? The passenger fender is in good shape. I also have a 383 engine block (pistons still in it) that I will include with the car if the reserve is met. It is not a complete motor, just block with pistons. Bumpers are in good shape but need rechromed. No major dents or issues though in the front or rear bumpers. This is an original automatic car on the column. I do have a 4 speed column and pedals available but they would need to be purchased separately as I just bought them myself as I was going to convert it to a 4 speed. It has a rear seat installed and a front seat that came with the car but it looks like it came from a taxi cab version Belvedere or something. No tracks on the front seat. It does still have the dash in it and is in respectable condition. It was also stripped I believe by the previous owner. The original color of the car was green and then someone painted it red. As stated, it is now all in primer. VIN tag and fender tag are both on the car. I do have a clear title for the car signed over to me but not retitled. Buyer can do that in their own state. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks. I will work with you on that if there is communication and you need some time but I can't store it for an extended period. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit must be made within 48 hours by Paypal. The total balance must be paid within 7 days of the end of the sale by International Money Order or cash upon pickup of the vehicle. I do reserve the right to end this auction at any time if vehicle is sold locally but my intent is to let the auction run it's course. I will not reveal the reserve price so please don't ask but it is less than what I paid for the car. Hopefully the pictures answer a lot of your questions but please ask if your questions are relevant to the sale of the car. For those of you who will ask, the VIN# of the car is RM21H9A294621. The vin tag matches and so does the number on the trunk lip and fender tag. Ask all questions before bidding guys to make sure you know what you are bidding on. This car is definitely worth rebuilding. You can do what you want to it without hurting originality or anything. Pro street, mild street, back to stock, whatever. The materials are there. I do have some boxes of parts that came with the car but most of it is freezer bags with bolts and stuff that the previous owner took off . Please look at all pictures clearly. What you see is what comes with the car. Thanks for your interest and please don't bid if your not interested in or can't pick up or have the car delivered. I have had a number of Road Runners and I am going to be going through some extra parts boxes that I have stored and if I have duplicate items and this car needs some of it I will add them to the boxes coming with the car. This is the last time I will list the car. If it doesn't hit the reserve this time I will leave it in my garage until time allows me to do it. I have lowered the reserve to a really fair price for the car and at a price where I am already losing money. I won't lower it anymore than the reserve is now so please don't ask what the reserve is and what I will sell if for. If your interested, bid. This car was manufactured at the Lynch Road plant in Michigan.
