Vehicle Detail

This is a very rare opportunity to own a very beautiful Henney Junior in very nice condition throughout! It is rare to find these Henney Juniors at all, let alone in such nice condition! This car has been owned by it's current owner for nearly twenty years. Originally owned by the C L Jennings & Son Funeral Home in Crewe, Virginia, this car was used primarily as a transport ambulance. It is obvious that this Henney was gently used, definately cared for, as evidenced by the condition of this rare beauty. Please look at the pictures, they tell the story all by themselves. For the benefit of people who may not know, Henney Motor Company was a coachbuilder of hearses, ambulances and flower cars also known as professional cars, for many years. At some point in the Forties, if my memory serves me, they signed exclusively with Packard to build their professional cars only on Packard chassis. The Henney Junior is a short wheelbase professional car, they were easier to drive and they were less expensive when they were new. Some were ordered by the military, still others were ordered by funeral directors and ambulance services. These Henney Juniors are sought after by both collectors of Packards and professional cars. And these professional cars will fit in most standard sized garages. I spent about two hours checking and roadtesting this car today. I found it to be very impressive, all the way around! From it's condition inside, outside and the way it runs and drives, all I can say is that my wife and I fell in love. If my situation would permit, this car would be coming home with us. From it's blue finish, to it's burgundy and taupe colors on the interior, it is very striking. The interior is flawless. I saw no evidence of rust, although the body was refinished a number of years ago. The chrome and stainless look nice and the glass is all good. The engine starts right up and runs strong. The car literally floats down the road, I didn't even notice a shake, or a rattle. The transmission shifts smoothly through it's gears and the clutch seems good. The rearend is quiet and has gears set for cruising at highway speeds. Packard power steering has been added to this car and it really makes driving easy and comfortable. Seatbelts were added for safety, so you can cruise with confidence. The underside appears solid and looks clean. It has red flashing grill lights and a mechanical siren and they work too! The only comments I have on the negative side, are these; The paint looks really nice for the most part, but there is a little of what I call "orange peel" that I think some buffing would cure. Although it really runs pretty darn well, I do not believe that there have been any major rebuilds done to it. The car has 60,000 original miles, but remember, it is nearly sixty years old. The owner of this car is 88 years old and has been a long time member of The Professional Car Society, as am I. We both know and enjoy these cars. I have seen this car at many of our International Meets over the years and it has won it's fair share of awards. However, it is time for this wonderful car to find a new and loving home. I am certain that the new owner will be extremely pleased with this Henney Junior. These cars don't come up for sale very often, especially in this condition. It is a rare opportunity, for sure! The car comes complete with the owner's manual and a folder full of papers and even a little memorabilia! Please look at all of the pictures thoroughly, I believe they tell the story very well. Although I have checked this car thoroughly and I have tried to describe the car accurately, your opinion might be different than mine. I suggest that you come and inspect the car for yourself, before you bid, if you can. After you have looked at all of the pictures and read everything, if I left a question unanswered, please ask before you bid. The car is sold AS-IS and WHERE-IS, with NO warranties expressed, or implied. We require a $200 nonrefundable PayPal deposit at the end of the auction. Balance is due within seven {7} days of the end of the auction. Bank wire transfer is preferred and a must for international buyers. In my opinion, you will love this car! Please know that this is your chance to own a nice example of a Henney Junior, so if you have been dreaming of one, the time is now. Thank you for reading my ramblings, now have fun bidding!
