Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Beautiful professionally frame off restored 1963 Rambler Classic 770 Cross Country four door station wagon. Aegean Green with a Frost White top and matching green interior. This car is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It has always been garaged and maintained. It had no rust when it was shipped for restoration and has no rust now. The tires are four years old and have just over 4,000 miles on them. The spare was purchased at the same time so it is identical. I purchased from the original owners estate in 2003, Portland Oregon as a gift for my sister; she drove it as original until 2006 when I had it shipped to Alabama and restored. At the time the car was white and tired. It is a frame off restoration both mechanical and cosmetic with either the original parts or NOS parts. The interior fabric is NOS original Rambler fabric. The car was originally white with an aegean green interior. I had it done in aegean green with a white top and Aegean green interior. I liked the green better and the configuration is an original Rambler configuration. The engine was modified to burn unleaded gasoline instead of leaded. It has a 287 V-8 with a 2bbl carburetor and automatic transmission. The 287 engine was a midyear introduction for AMC so only 4400 of these wagons were produced for that model year as compared to nearly 20,000 of the six cylinders. The original owner ordered this car in April 1963 taking delivery the end of June in Kenosha Wisconsin and driving it back to Portland Oregon. The car has standard steering and brakes. It does have the light group, AM radio, clock, visibility group, twin grip rear end and the original seatbelts (4). My sister added an additional seat belt in the back seat (NOS Rambler) so it has one tan seat belt in the back seat for a total of five belts. Since I’ve had the car in Florida the only mishap I’ve had is chipping the paint along the driver’s side door jam. I have NOS door guards for the front that will both cover the chips and prevent it from happening again. They are not installed but will be included with the car. I have not found guards for the back doors. The glove box and cargo box do not match the keys. I have not had them rekeyed to lock so they do not lock. Everything works beautifully on this car as it should for 1963, though the clock gains time over a week and A.M. channels are hard to come by. It has a lot of power and is fun to drive. This car is offered as is where is. I like this car, I have maintained and enjoyed this car, everything down to the clock works as of today but I cannot offer a guarantee. No warranties are implied or stated. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I’ve had these delivered and picked up before. I will gladly facilitate convenient pickup within reason.
