Vehicle Detail
This Bronco is back on the market after last week's winning bidder flaked and never paid. So here is the listing again. Good Luck....and please....serious buyers only. You are looking at a rare "uncut" 1972 Ford Bronco with huge potential. Odometer shows 60,200 miles, and I have been told that's the original mileage....but being a 5-spot it is hard to tell. As with most 40-year old classics, this Bronco does have some rust. Varying degrees of rust can be seen on floor boards, the inner fenders, the left and right rear quarter panels and posts and the rocker panels. The undercarriage (frame, rear ends, springs, etc.) has surface rust and some pitting, but absolutely no rust through anywhere other than the sheet metal mentioned above. The frame is solid. At some point in this Bronco's history it was repainted. There is very little sign of filler used, but the only way to be certain will be to strip the existing paint and replace panels as necessary...all of which are available from numerous Bronco parts specialists. The windshield is cracked Compared to other Broncos listed recently, the positives on this Bronco outweigh the negatives. Many panels are without rust AND are in above average condition. As a result of being parked since 2004, this Bronco will need a little TLC to get it in tip-top shape. The previous owner installed an electric fuel pump that recently failed so an OEM fuel pump was installed. New plugs and plug wires have recently been installed and the carburator rebuilt. The engine is a 289 with 3-speed manual transmission. Brakes are manual. The seats appear to be from a later model Ford Ranger and have been tack-welded in place. Driver and passenger seats are fully adjustable and very comfortable. Tires are studded and in good condition. This Bronco also has a 3" Lift. To sum it up, this Bronco is definitely not perfect, but it has some very good qualities. It is very presentable and will make a solid driver with some mechanical attention. I am disappointed to have to sell this Bronco, as it was going to be frame-off restoration project. Unfortunately, I have other projects demanding more time, money...and space. Thank you and Good Luck. On Jul-12-12 at 16:59:26 PDT, seller added the following information: New Note 7/12/2012: I had taken this Bronco into the shop when I listed it .... just to confirm it had the potential I described. Well, the shop just called....they tuned it up, rebuilt the carb...again....and reported back that the engine runs great...$567.00 bill. I'm glad I did it though. I will have all the invoice details available for the successful bidder. Thanks again.
