Vehicle Detail

Today I am selling my first car on ebay for the father of my late friend. He wants to keep this, but his son's funeral drained his bank quickly. I strongly encourage you to ask all pertinent questions before bidding. This is a 1991 Pontiac Firebird. It has the 3.1 V6 with an automatic transmission. It has the factory ground effects, but no T-tops. The interior is tan velour. This car is in stock condition and has never been modified in any way. The owner has kept in in excellent running shape since he purchased it in 1998 & it has always been in the garage for winter & any storms. The entire front end suspension, all brakes & tires are very nearly new. It needs nothing more than gas to get in & drive across the country today. It is rust free & has never been driven in the winter or any snow. It was purchased from the original owner in Arizona. There is a bit of paint peel here & there, but again - no rust. The passenger side cowl under the hood has a faint brown spot, but a scotch brite pad would remove it easily. I am a retired auto body man & I have inspected for any signs of previous wreck damage & could find none. The body is very straight. I suppose you could install a V8 if you want more power, but the 3.1 V6 in it runs great. It is not a perfect time capsule, but it has been very well maintained. It has been his pride & joy for nearly 15 years & he does not let anyone get to close to it in his garage so again, it has been very well cared for. All the parts he replaced on it have lifetime warranties as well & he does have documentation to back it up. It has been treated like more of a collector's car than a mode of transportation. It is again, in stock shape & the owner has never modified anything, only driven it occasionally in the summer months. Most items on the engine are also nearly new, such as the alternator & some fuel injectors. It runs very smoothly. The A/C needs to be recharged, but that is the only real flaw in this car. You should see the engine bay - it looks nearly new! It even still has the air pump that GM used to put in cars back then. It is located in Independence Iowa for a showing if you wish to look at it. If it sells locally first, any bidders here would be released from their bid obligations. Okay, now for the nitty gritty. if you are the winning bidder, you are expected to pay in full for the car within 7 calendar days of the closing bid. It can be kept in the garage for up to 3 weeks for you to pick it up with no charge, but after that it goes outside or you will be expected to pay $5.00 daily to house it in the garage. There is no warranty of any kind implied or expressed. The owner will consider meeting the buyer within an hour's drive of his home, but you would be expected to fill his gas tank for the return trip. The car can be released after all funds for it have cleared, but not before then. I am trying to remember all the fine details, but suffice it to say that we want it to go to a good future owner who will not stiff the current owner in any way. My feedback rating is 100% & I wish to keep it that way. I check email 1 time daily & will do my best to answer all questions to your satisfaction. On Jul-10-12 at 14:52:36 PDT, seller added the following information: To clarify - this car has not been repainted but it does have some spots of paint peel. My friend that owns the car now added some touch up paint to cover up bare metal spots but only in small areas. If you have any doubts as to the true condition of it, let me know & I can arrange for a private showing of the car & even put it on a hoist so you can see the rust free condition of it.
