Vehicle Detail
Smooth running, dependable and good looking. Body sits on a 1979 Olds chassis which has disc front brakes, 4 point suspension and open driveline. I love old Buicks but Dynaflow and torque tube driveline never did anything for me. I wanted the looks with a more modern suspension and driveline so took a 55 roadmaster I had and fit it to a 79 Olds sedan by stretching the Olds chassis 10". All welding done by a professional shop. For driveline I bought a rebuilt 1969 430 motor and turbo 400 trans which went in like they belonged there and provide plenty of go for the car. Over the last 5 years of on and off work the car was painted , interior done, windshield and flat glass replaced, bumpers re-chromed, floors and any rust cut out and replaced. Still needs interior courtesy lights installed{I have them} ,radio face plate is just that so it needs a sound system( plenty of room under dash where old radio was), Trunk needs to be finished (spare tire well interferred with chassis frame so we took it out and still needs to be closed up). Still needs a neutral safety switch installed. All windows roll up & down with ease, all exterior lights and blinkers work as do dash lights. In the last four years I have gone on several car club runs of 4-5 hundred miles with no problems. Tires and brakes have at most 1k miles on them. A Vintage Air Gen 4 Magnum keeps it cool . Fuel cell and aluminum radiator are Summit. All wiring is a Kwik Wire kit w/12 circuit panel. Doesnt burn or leak oil and no blowby when you get on it. I'm just tired of it and am ready to go on to something else. No Reserve. I am adding some pictures of dash and trunk in response to questions. Car is for sale locally so listing might end early. On Jul-10-12 at 06:39:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to a question I got the hood is held up by a "prop-rod" . I was going to install the small gas charged struts to do the job. The original springs come it with if you want to go back to them.
