2001 Infiniti QX4 Light Mint Silver exterior with Beige leather interior. I am listing and selling the Infiniti for a friend who does not have the time or interest in dealing with unloading the vehicle at this time. However she still wants to recuperate as much money from her initial $40k purchase. This QX4 is a one owner vehicle with all original miles. It was serviced and maintained at her local Infiniti store. In fact it was in for routine service at 48k miles, along with that service the dealer was addressing an open recall fix on a strut tower, at that time the vehicle had no other known issues. Up until this the engine ordeal she had no intentions of replacing her vehicle, as it was running fine. She explained to me that one day she came out to start the vehicle and your know the rest, Her Infiniti started up and sounded like a diesel Mack truck with a little kid banging an aluminum baseball bat against the engine under the hood. And here we are….. Options on this vehicle are: Push button 4x4, Leather, Moon roof, Heated front and rear seats, Roof Rack, Running boards, Xenon headlights, Bose stereo with 6 disc CD changer, 2 sets of keys and remotes, Full owner’s manual. Exterior: Vehicle is average exterior, scuffs on the front and rear bumpers. Also there is scuffing on the vehicles cladding around the wheel wells. Fortunately, its plastic so repaint would be the easiest most inexpensive option. The alloy wheel has some paint bubbling on them, not a major concern just cosmetic. The body looks fine with only a few dings and minor dents (specifically the rear hatch). There is a minor hole in the front lip on hood not sure where this comes from but it’s there. Probably would need body work to address. The hole is pretty small so you may not even want to deal with it. Tires have good tread but probably have dry rot due to the vehicle sitting for over 3 months. Ill rate exterior a 6/10 Interior: Interior is fine, little dirty but a good detail l will bring back to life. Leather really looks good. Carpets are in good shape just needs a shampoo. All electronics work fine when vehicle is running. A/C blows cold and all electrics work fine Radio, Moon roof, Radio/speakers, and power windows/locks are fine. Ill rate the interior an 8/10 Mechanic report: Vehicle developed an engine knock; mechanics report required a long block estimate. Obviously my friend is not interest in replacing the engine with vehicle already being over +10 years old. She has already moved on to her next vehicle. Ill rate the engine at 1/10 I’ve looked on EBay and seen replacement engines from $1200 to $1700. If you figure a very generous $1000 to $1200 to labor the engine replacement job, this makes a great deal. Even if you are NOT a mechanic and you have the time and resources to get it back on the road, you stand to save some significant money. For those of you that CAN do it yourself, this is a mechanics special, so if you specialize in fixing or repairing vehicles well I don’t have to tell you how good a deal it is. I’ll rate the deal 10/10. Purchase process: CASH only, I have free and clear title in hand. Very simple transaction process: cash for title and QX4. The vehicle does start and move. However as I stated the engine has a harsh knocking noise so don’t plan on driving it very far. I certainly suggest roll back or dolly for moving and transporting the vehicle until it’s fixed.
