Vehicle Detail
I purchased this vehicle about a year ago with the intention of my kids driving this to school. Unfortunately, they’re not interested in it so I’ve got to sell it. This car is drivable now and makes a great project car for the right person. No leaks, starts right up and sounds tough! Highlights: · 1967 Beetle, body modified by previous owner · 2003 Mexican 1776 cc engine – one of last engines produced, has less than 500 hours on it. Heavily chromed, good looker. · 4-speed manual transmission · Dual Delortto carburetors · Electric fuel pump · Stinger exhaust – loud enough to get noticed! · Chrome wheels with nearly new, wide P295/50R15 tires in the back and P205/60R15’s in the front · Body is straight with new fiberglass front and back fenders · Alpine CDA-9851 removable face car stereo/CD/MP3/WMA player · All glass is intact and windows work I purchased the vehicle in May 2011 for $5000 near Dallas and drove it home. Since then, I’ve: · Replaced transmission · Replaced axle on passenger side and seal kits · Replaced brakes · Replace clutch cable · Installed new wire harness · Install new steering column turn signal switch · Installed rear fiberglass cowling · Rewired front yellow running lights to act as turn signals, etc. There are a couple of things I would have gotten done if I were keeping it but just never got around to it: · Needs the plastic retaining clips for the sun visors · Tachometer worked before the new wiring harness, have not reconnected it · Front wheel, driver’s side, has two studs that are bad, needs new drum · The clip for the cable on the gas gauge sender snapped off during our work. This needs replaced. · Windshield wiper motor works but needs replacement So, I’m into this vehicle nearly $7500. We’ll set target selling price at $6000 and then go from there. Car is sold as-is, where-is. No warranties or guarantees are stated or implied. I have the title in hand but have not registered the vehicle nor had it inspected (Texas). Car must be picked up within 7 days of sale, Cash in hand, Money order or a cashier’s check as payment. I will be placing this car for sale on Ebay, Craigslist and www.thesamba.com and reserve the right to cancel the sale should it sell somewhere else first! Contact me for any additional questions or to schedule an appointment to inspect the vehicle. Can also give you the name/phone number of the mechanic that did most of my work and he can give you the skinny if you’d like.
