The Silver Streak name originated from a body detail specific to Pontiacs manufactured from 1935 to 1956. The Silver Streak entailed a five-banded, chrome metal band that ran down the middle of the hood and trunk. Born to the Art Deco style of the mid thirties, the chrome metal was meant as a visual cue to help distinguish Pontiac’s from competitors and create the illusion of speed. This beauty has a straight 8cylinder, 92HP Hydra-Matic transmission, new white wall tires, all new chrome, new weather stripping, new brakes, new shocks and all chrome Continental Kit (not installed but included). All gages work accordingly with the odometer clocking and indicating 106,000 miles which is believed to be the true mileage. This car is such a joy to drive. This exquisite vehicle underwent re-chroming which was done tastefully to represent the true originality of the car. The vehicle is all original except for the wearable items such as hoses, belts, upholstery and a repaint which was completed a couple of years ago.
