1985 VW Cabriolet NO RESERVE I have lost interest in this car so now it can be yours. The Cabriolet is Red with a Black leather interior and Black top. The car has a 1.8l gas engine with a 5 speed manual trans with 142,660 miles, Runs and drives good, great on gas. I have had the car since march 2011, and put around 1,000 miles on it. Previous owner had car sitting in barn for 4 years. May 2011 I had a new top professionally installed. Original headliner is still on, its a little dirty but should clean up. Car has been garage kept. The only rust is on the rear drivers side in front of the rear wheel. The spot is about 3 in. wide and 1 1/2 in. high. The rest of the car including the undercarriage is rust free. Two dings on the front right fender, PO said a ladder fell against it. The rest of the body is in good shape, a few scratches and small dings. The paint is ok a little faded, not perfect. Many new Parts installed -Techtonics cat back exhaust system -Radiator -Hoses -Timing belt and tensioner -Bosch injectors -Rear Brake shoes, and wheel cylinder on left rear -Front strut inserts -Clutch cable -Shifter relay shaft -Rubber valve cover gasket -Head gasket, and head bolts Gasket was replaced when a valve cover stud broke and the head needed to be removed to extract the stud. -Battery replaced in december -Dist. cap, rotor, plugs and wires in december -Outer right cv boot in july -Fuel filter in july Tires were installed by PO, they are in great shape and have about 2000 miles on them with 9/32 tread left Interior is in good shape, Drivers seat has some wear and a small tear the rest of the seats are fine. Headliner is a little dirty but should clean up. The drivers seat does not fold forward (for access to rear seat) The cable is broken, I have a cable from a parts car, just never installed it. The gauges all work as of now including the gauges on the center console. Sometimes the tach/temp/gas gauge does not work but a slap to the dash usually corrects this, but they are working at the moment. A sony cd player is installed. Convertible boot is included. The car runs and drives great. Starts right up, sometimes idles a little rough, but usually clears up when up to operating temp. Trans shifts well after I replaced the relay shaft, I still have the rest of the bushing kit. The car DOES NOT have power steering or a/c. I also have extra parts to be included with the vehicle -Bentley Manual -Rear window glass and gasket -Sachs clutch kit (disk, press. plate, and releaser) -Bosch fuel filter, dist cap, spark plugs -Outer cv boot -Right tailight -Drivers seat release cable -And various gaskets and trim for top, and bucket of various small parts I have a clear Pennsylvania title in my name.
