This was done at 78,624 miles and included: coolant change, air filter, new timing belts, both timing belt tensioner bearings, new air filter and a new rubber boot for the air cleaner housing. I have a friend that is a certified mechanic and he helped me do the work. I have plenty of pictures of the timing belts/tensioners being changed plus I've saved all of the old parts as proof that they were done. - The timing belts that were installed were OE belts and purchased from the dealer. I don't believe in installing cheap/no name belts! - All of the rubber and plastic trim on this car is in good shape and not weathered since this car is always garaged. The black removable top still has that original satin "shine" to it. - The removable top mounts solidly, and has no leaks when installed - All of the electrical and accessories are in good working order! - Rubber weatherstripping seals are all in good shape - Power windows - Power locks - Power adjustable side view mirror - Electric/power antenna - Electric pop-up headlights - Air conditioning equipped - Rear defog back glass - Other features include: Ferrari signature gated shifter, dual engine temperature gauges, 360 degree rotating adjustable dash and lower vents, instrument lighting dimmer control - Quarter window triangular grilles are hinged and are able to be opened up. This allows access for cleaning the quarter windows, and for the gas filler. These grilles can be locked and unlocked with the door key. As mentioned above, the car runs and drives great! It drives nicely down the road and is a solid car. The engine has plenty of power and runs smoothly like it should. Needless to say, it attracts a lot of attention and is a real headturner! The removable "hard" top gives you a great convertible experience while it's off, but still feels nice and "tight" like a coupe when installed. The car has been enthusiast owned and has been well cared for all of its life. The previous owner showed this car as a display car (not in the concours competition) at the Concorso Italiano in the year 2000. I am thinking of maybe taking it there again this year if I still own it at that time. The car IS in good shape and well cared for as described above, but please keep in mind that it's an older car and it's 30 years old. It is NOT brand new and NOT in a super perfect showroom condition.....it has been used and enjoyed! The body is straight, the paint is in overall good shape and shines very nicely! It does have a couple of minor dings, rock chips and imperfections here and there from use. The paint on the top panel behind the removable top has a few cosmetic blemishes. The previous owner mentioned to me that there was some paint work previously done on the right rear quarter panel. I was informed that this was done due a cosmetic scratch on the quarter panel. I was assured that it was not due to accident damage. I had a bodyman take a close look, and he found no evidence of previous damage either. The painted area looks very nice, and appears to be of high quality work. I wouldn't have been able to tell myself, if it were not disclosed to me. In either case, I want to disclose that to the next owner as well. Other body items.....There is a rust bubble on the front bottom corner of the passenger's side door, and another small bubble towards the rear bottom of the same door. However, these bubbles have remained exactly the same and haven't gotten any worse in the over 10 years that I've owned the car. From what I understand, it is pretty common to have bubbling on these areas on 308's. On the rest of the body though, there is ABSOLUTELY NO RUST!! The power windows work fine, but they are a bit slow going up. This is also a common thing found on 308's. The heater and ventilation system works as it should. The air conditioning was also working before I had the timing belts done. The mechanic had to vent the system of the freon and remove the A/C compressor to gain access. So it is not currently working now, but a recharge of freon should only be needed to remedy this. I DO know that the system components are in working order, since it was operating fine before the timing belt service-A/C compressor removal. I never really used it much anyway, which is why having it recharged wasn't a high priority for me. The system has been evacuated and is currently stored under vacuum to eliminate any moisture contamination concerns. I haven't really used the car too much lately, plus I could use some cash in my pocket is the reason for the decision to sell. Plus, I really wouldn't mind gaining the garage space too! Even when I don't use it, I try to start it up and take it for a short trip around the block at least once every 1-2 months. Even when it sits, I wax and detail it on a regular basis. It was my "baby", and I always kept it up so that it would be ready to go whenever I wanted to go for a drive! Plus, it was a bit therapeutic for me to get out in the garage and polish it once in awhile! It's a real blast to own, and gets the attention of a 6 figure exotic at a small fraction of the price! However, it's now time for me to pass it onto someone else to enjoy.
