You are bidding on a classic VW Superbeetle from 1973 that has lived the majority of its life in the southeast USA. This beetle is not modified and is an all original car with a strong stock 1600 engine (made 55HP at the rear wheels on my chassis dyno!) and all mechanicals are sound. The engine was overhauled in 2010 and has about 6,000 miles on it since the top end overhaul was done. Tires are like new, brakes are all fresh. The car was painted in 2011 and all window rubber was replaced as well as door seals and etc at that time. A new windshield was also installed. The interior is all new to include the seats being recovered with the exception of the headliner, which has no issue other than being dirty. I didn't want to replace the headliner because it was all original and just needed cleaning. Door panels are also new. I built this car in 2010/2011 to be a daily driver but after completion I couldn't live with the stock 1600cc engine after having modified VWs for the past 20 years. I allowed a friend to borrow the car and he drove it to Chicago and has used it as a daily driver for the past 8 months. He doesn't need the car anymore and I have decided to sell it. The car is located just outside of Chicago where it could be looked at or shipped to anywhere in the country from easily. This car drives great and is an unmolested daily driver. While it hasn't been completely restored it has had all the important bases covered. It was such an original and solid car it didn't need restoration, just some TLC and fresh paint/ interior. The car has one small deficiency which is a bubble in the paint just behind the passenger side quarter glass. I have too many VWs and Porsches and don't want to deal with shipping the car back from Chicago so I'd rather sell it. The car does NOT have a title, it will be sold on a Georgia bill of sale that will be notarized. I will include a letter from the State of Georgia that states that all cars prior to 1988 do not need a title in this state and this will make the registration of the car possible in other states that require a title. The buyer will be responsible for all out of state paperwork and title acquisition.
