The past history on the century told by his son is the original owner retired in 73'. His dad purchase this new Buick from Reason Buick in Santa Ana, California. They traded in there 1965 Skylark & paid the remaining balance off in cash. His mom & dad never took any trips in it, mostly just around town-locally. His father stop driving in 1996, due to his vision & old age - 86 years old. He failed a driving test at the Dmv & was very mad about it. He parked the Buick in the garage at around 26k actual miles. In 1999, the owner's wife passed away. The father asked the son to put the Buick in his name. The Buick was driven every so often to take his father to dr. visits, etc. The trunk was used to hold his dad's wheel chair, thats the reason they kept it. In 2001, the original owner passed away at 91 years old. The son decided to keep the Buick in the garage as there was really no reason for selling his dad's car. In the last 5 years, it barley had been driven 500 miles per year. Recently, I drove by seeing the owner's garage door open. It was found sitting in the original owner son's garage. There sitting was the Buick with about 3 inches of dust. The original owner's son said it was time for someone else to enjoy it & see the Buick to good use. He did write me a 6 page letter about all past history._____________________________Up for Auction for the very first time anywhere a 1973 Buick Century Coupe with only 43k original & documented miles. A True Unrestored Survivor, owned by the original owner & son. The Buick Century remains all original. Never been painted or restored. Factory Green Gold with Neutral Cloth interior. Still has the numbers matching 350-2barrel. Never been modified & is 100% stock down to the exhaust muffler. Factory options include automatic-power steering-air condition-disc brakes-am radio. Everything works as well as the cigarette lighter. A True California Buick with it's original Blue plates. Never left the city of Los Angeles, a fine example of a California car. Solid undercarriage / trunk - very clean. The best part is they have never been work on or painted. The interior as well has never been taken apart & shows in's been garage kept its entire life. The father & son were scared that if they left it outside, someone would steal the wheel cover & where would they ever find another one. The drive side of the seat has some wear on it from the cloth coming apart. It was covered in bath towels when found. The body is very straight for it's age & shows off well for being original. Passenger side rear taillight/fender extension was damage many years ago when the owner's vision was going bad. That is the only damage that can be seen. A very small rust crack on the driver side rear wheel well at the bottom, barley can be seen. Can be driven anywhere. Very smooth & it drives like it has 43k actual miles. All stock & quiet. Transmission shifts into all gears & radio still works. The air comes on but not cold. It getting very slim to find a original owner's car to be found in a garage just sitting anymore. I do have the original owners manual/booklet from the dealer. 2 folders of service records / smog emission slips & insurance paperwork to document the miles. I have notes documenting the miles & work done as well.
