Vehicle Detail

1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD In 1970 my in-laws purchased this beautiful pink 1957 T-Bird from a Vegas showgirl. It became the ''family driver'' and was faithfully cared for as it transported their two daughters around town. In the 1980's the car underwent a restoration receiving: * Full Rebuild of the Factory 312cid V8 * Full Rebuild of the Factory Automatic Transmission * A/C Installation * Wire Wheels with New Tires * Interior * Much more including cooling system, brakes, etc... {We have a folder full of period receipts} After the restoration was complete, the T-Bird graced the family with another 20,000 or so miles until the early 1990's when it was slumbered. Fast forward to 2012, the decision was made that it was time to sell. Recently, she saw light for the first time in over 20 years as we opened the shop and lifted her cover. ~ IN REST ~ ~ READY TO FEEL THE BREEZE ~ After a short trip, she arrives at our home and was bathed right on the trailer. You can see her shine of gratitude. ~ LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME ~ After her bath it was time for a full detail reminiscent of days of 'ole. Not bad for 55 years, eh??? ~ The Rest of the Story ~ CONDITION Before I discuss condition, I would like to provide the following: I am describing as accurately as possible based on what I see and how I understand this vehicle. I am very picky and don't like when anything is over-promised and under-delivered. Thus, I don't want to do that to you. With that said, there is little more subjective than describing the condition of a vehicle. There are simply endless variables driving a person's decision criteria that effect what is claimed to be in ''X'' condition. About the only certainty is that the seller will feel the item being sold is in better condition than the buyer. So, from the start, please use that lens and you shouldn't be disappointed. Lastly, I do not have a ''T-Bird'' background whatsoever. So, what I'm providing is all I know about this specific vehicle and/or T-Birds in general based on what I've been told. Mechanical: As mentioned, the vehicle has approximately 20,000 post-restoration/rebuild road miles and ran flawlessly when parked. With that said, I have not, and will not, attempt to start it or drive it. I am not aware of any issues, however the new owner should follow standard protocols for awakening a stored vehicle. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT A RUNNING/DRIVING VEHICLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE. Cosmetic: I would consider this car to be a ''10 to 20 footer'' (depending on your eyesight :>). It is not a Concours show car by any stretch of the imagination. It strikes me as a head-turning T-Bird that should be inexpensive to get into driving shape and just enjoy while not having to worry about actually using it. Or, if someone wanted a fantastic base for a #1, 100pt, rotisserie restoration, you would be hard-pressed to find a better starter. More specifically however, the paint is far from perfect and includes one substantial chip/scrape that happened in storage. I have included a picture of the damage below. There are certainly other chips/marks/imperfections, but nothing as drastic as the photo. In cleaning it up, I didn't find any dents, dings, waves, or rust (I believe this has been a west coast / dry climate car its whole life). Regarding the bright-work, the bumpers, mirror, and antenna are rough and may justify re-plating depending on your intended use. Regarding the interior, overall I would say it is in fantastic shape. The only exception is the seat itself. There aren't any rips or tears, but it shows age. Lastly, there is a small chip in the front windshield. I humbly invite you or your buying representative to our home to personally inspect this classic T-Bird. Please understand this isn't a fire-sale and we will patiently await the right match between buyer and seller. OTHER QUESTIONS What's Your Reserve? Reserve will not be disclosed, thank you in advance for not asking. Trades: We are ultimately looking for cash out of this ''sale.'' However, that doesn't mean we won't consider a trade if the upside to us is great enough to justify the extra efforts ensuing in marketing/selling your item. Thus, if you have a trade you would like to propose, please ensure the total value of your trade is at least 20% greater than that value of the T-Bird (which may mean cash +/- may need to be exchanged). If you would like to propose a trade, we must agree to the details prior to your bidding. Shipping: If you are within the USA, but at a distance precluding personal pickup, please establish a pre-contract with a shipping company who guarantees their ability to pickup a non-running vehicle prior to bidding. This vehicle will not be sold or shipped outside of the USA. THE ''NOT SO FINE'' FINE PRINT PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BIDDING. YOUR BID INDICATES YOU ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
