Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1982 Austin MINI. I had to list it as a 1980 since eBay did not like the UK VIN #. It has the very reliable 998cc motor, often referred to as a "1000" paired with an Automatic Transmission and the very desirable Right Hand Drive. This little beauty starts on first crank, drives smooth, and is a blast to drive. This car gets so much attention everywhere it goes, people love seeing it, especially in its iconic color scheme. I have owned the car for about 2 years and have focused my efforts on the mechanical side of the car. So let's start with the updgrades: Stage 3 Kit installed this spring. This is a minispeed Stage 3 kit imported from the UK. This kit includes a 1275 Head, K&N air filter, new exhaust and intake manifold, new downpipe and new center stainless exhaust.Car has adjustable Hi/Lo suspension installed upfrontNew OEM Shocks8.4" Disc Brakes upfront. These are the upgraded brakes a huge improvement over the drum brakesRebuilt Drums in the rearNew Brake Master Cylinder and Braided brake linesTo fit the new brakes 13" wheels and tiresNew upgraded Alternator 70ampNew Ignition Coil upratedNew Accuspark Electronic Distribution SystemNew Belts and HosesRebuilt HS4 CarbPerformance Carb Needle and SpringNew Oil Cartridge ContainerNewer BatteryNew Radio2 Kicker 6" SpeakersNew direct from UK replacement Halogen HeadlightsNew Bushing Kit Installed Needs attention:Paint overall is good, but whomever did the last paint job did not get all the rust.Larger rust spot on drivers doorLarger rust section on Boot (trunk lid)See pics for paint issuesWheels can rub on full crank turn because of the 13" wheels, which were needed to accomodate the larger safer brakes. Only noticeable in parking lots, but needs attention. There are new arches included just not installedOtherwise normal wear and tear as expected for a car this old. I have a 100% positive feedback on eBay with over 300 auctions because I believe in being honest with what I buy and sell on eBay. So please feel free to ask questions, if local stop by and take a look. The car is not a show car, but if you are looking for a fun driver that will get more attention than a supercar this is your car. On Jun-04-12 at 17:55:28 PDT, seller added the following information: MINI Underside a bunch of pics of the underside. Took pics of the worst spots as best as I could. To me, it looks like someone at some point tried to jack it up from the floor board areas and those are the 4 worst spots. I paid $5500 originally for the car and frankly I did not know enough and over paid. I've spent probably that much in parts, with the disc brakes, suspension upgrades, new rebuilt carb, new 13" wheels and tires, stage 3 head, new exhaust system, etc. the car is very sound mechanically. Check out the 3 videos of the car... And ask questions as you can tell I will help you 'see' the car as best as I can and will continue to honestly answer your questions. Thanks
