I'm selling a 1956 DeSoto Sportsman 2-door hardtop with a 330 hemi engine. It is in very good condition, with 34,000 miles--my mechanic and I both feel it is accurate. The car has sat outside for several years and the weather has taken it's toll on the paint. All the chrome is there but because of the weathering, it really should be replated. Mechanically this car runs perfect. Does not smoke, drives nice, and rides nice. The driver and passenger side windows have cracks in them. The rest of the glass is all good. The tires look brand new. The exhaust also looks new. The frame is very solid. There is minimal rust on the rockers, but they look solid (there is also a brand new set that go with the car). The front floor pans have some holes in them and should probably be replaced (new ones cost $51) but the rear ones are very solid. Headliner needs to be replaced. There is one small hole in the trunk that needs to be patched but the rest of the trunk is solid. Some minor rust on the fenders and quarter panels. I have the original owner's manual and protector plate(?). This is a complete car--you don't need to look for anything. I purchased this car from a 75 yr. old man that owned it for several years.
