'96 Volkswagen VW Passat TDI 1.9 L Turbo Diesel 4 door sedan, full-sized compared to jetta (mid/compact). Back seat and trunk are cavernous!(Did not move seats in pics) however this car weighs about the same as a modern civic. This was the first year that the TDI Diesel was offered. This is a rare little gem that is going to make someone very satisfied. Car is in great shape, motor has just had an oil change with Shell Rotella T6 15w 40 full synthetic. The interior is very clean and I would rate the upholstery a 9/10, carpet 8.5/10. The timing belt was changed last year. The car comes with the original keys and full VW owners manual/case. The tires are Yokohama and all have roughly 8-9/32 (75%+). The sunroof works great through all functions and does not leak. No suspension problems/noises or rust anywhere. This diesel gets over 45 mpg hwy and over 35 city (real numbers). Those who know these motors know this one is just getting broken in.  Mileage reads 128,6xx, and the interior and motor reflect an easy life. There is a gated community sticker in the lower left windshield. The 5speed is ready for many 100k's more, shifts smooth through all gears, no whining grinding or hang ups. When I changed the oil, it had the correct sized Bosch filter (said Made in Germany, there are other Bosch's), and was idling at the proper temp. No Check engine lights/ No ECU stall probs. Pioneer CD player. Metallic color paint still looks good for a DD.    Known issues:    AC is weak, may need a charge or repair. Compressor works fine, may be a leaky condenser (Partsgeek com has 2 different applicable condensers new, +o-rings, under $50 shipped).   could use an alignment (no uneven wear on tires)    The headliner has been removed.   The car has a few scrapes and dings...see pics. didnt see any rust (see pics)   1 Corner marker missing (see pic)   Someone did an ok job touch up rock chips on hood (see pic)             Delivery available, contact for details   This item is for sale locally and may end early.  Please contact me for a test drive.    Thanks for looking         Compare to: Item   150813321934  '96 Passat TDI wagon- 180K View from drivers seat rearward...
