Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1962 studebaker daytona conv -- i have owned this car for one year and my intentions were to restore it back to original condition however i am unable to do so at this time therefore it is now for sale -- if you have an interest in this vehicle please read this description very carefully as it will answer most all of the questions you might have -------- ENGINE & DRIVELINE --- the cars starts up everytime and runs perfect -- idles perfect and never overheats --no engine noises -- quiet muffler system -- transmission shifts perfectly -- have only driven on my block -- never on a highway -- when it sits for any lenght of time the transmission pan drips oil -- not a lot however i would put on a new pan seal BODY AND FRAME -- this car is totally rust free -- the frame and underside is rock solid -- no rust ever -- floor pans - trunk are rust free -- the fenders and doors are all original and completely rust free -- it is very hard to find a car that is all original and not been made over -- this is a dry west coast car -- BODY AND INTERIOR --- the chrome bumpers front and rear each have a small dent in each one -- all the stainless trim is in good condition ( a few dings here and there ) and it should be polished -- the paint is old and faded - it looks ok from twenty feet but most definately the car needs to be repainted -- the body is lazer straight and there are no dents or parking lot dings -- this car was originally blue when it was new -- according to the person i bought it from it has only one repaint from when it was new -- the interior is acceptable as is but when restoring the car i would install a new interior -- the pictures make it look a lot better then it really is -- this is not the original interior -- the radio is not in the car however it comes with a working 1962 am radio and a new antenna -- both have to be installed -- the ign switch is hanging down from the dash and needs to be put in the proper place on the dash -- i am unable to do this -- also the conv top switch also needs to be installed in its proper place -- it works and sends the top up and down -- the conv top is in above average condition -- ( no tears or rips ) the rear plastic needs to be replaced BITS AND PIECES -- the doors need to be adjusted -- the car could use new door and trunk seals -- the instrument bezels are worn badly - the gas gauge does not work -- the window cranks work poorly -- all the glass is in very good condition -- the drivers seat adjustment is ok but not the best -- the tires are average -- the plastic lens on the transmission selector needs to be glued in -- P-NDLR its falls off every once in a while - the steering is real good and the brakes work fine - the downside is no power steering or power brakes THATS ALL FOLKS -- if a 62 studebaker daytona conv is what you like then this is without a doubt one of the best ones out there to restore -- i looked for a long time to find a rust free one but now at 71 i am unable to do the work that it takes -- if by some chance you have a question about this car feel free to email me or call me at 702-401-3344. thank you for looking at my auction.
