New Coker wide white tires New battery New valve job, timing chain, and motor mounts New shifter bushings Complete brake job New soft top New windshield Chrome re-plated where needed Replaced various interior parts where needed including correct floor matting Please call with any questions - Gary @ 817 235 2036... This is the history of this vehicle from Mercedes Benz based on the VIN number June 23, 2008 Information attained from Mercedes-Benz Customer Relations (800) 367 6372 (201) 573 2772 12104010023918 is the correct vehicle identification number for this Mercedes 190SL. 12104010023918 is also the chassis number Al210401000281 is the body number Now to read the VIN # is as follows: 121 = 1905L 040 = coupe 10 = left hand drive 023918 = chassis number The S in SL stands for Sports and the L means Light DB 40G 50G is the paint code. Daimler-Benz paint supplied by Glasurit, 40 is a black body, and 50 is a white hard top. NOTE: What happened a lot of times people ordered the vehicle with a white top and when they took delivery they didn't like the color contrast so they had the top repainted the color of the body. The wheels are always the same color as the body. The engine numbering is located on a data plate, left side of engine near the cylinder head. The engine number 12192810001874 and bottom number M121B.IX 121928-10 tell that the top and bottom halves of the engine match M121B.IX = M engine type, 121 indicates model and IX= 928 engine. This vehicle was built on August 2, 1962. This car wasn't sold until 1963 thus was titled as a 1963 1905L. Mercedes vehicles were titled the year they were actually sold not the year they were built. There were no vehicles actually built in 1963, the last 104 built in late 1962 were to be sold as 1963's. A data plate on the right side firewall was for US imported cars only reading "Made in Western Germany".
