I've lost storage for my 1949 Studebaker 3/4 ton long bed pickup. Truck is complete except for the gas tank and front seat. It has the usual rust but is definately salvageable. I intended to mechanically restore it and leave the body alone so it has had the front clip removed and work started on the brakes, etc. as you can see from the pictures. During a recent move, I had to put the tires back on and found to my dismay that it has a bent frame which has the front wheels about 1 &1/2 inches off the rear track so it would definately dog-track if driven down the road. Apparently this happened a long time ago as it had been driven as a farm truck until a few years ago and showed no collision damage when I bought it. With loss of storage and no desire or time to have the frame straightened, I've got to let it go quickly or I'll have to send it to the crusher which would be a shame because it has several hard to find parts on it such as brake drums, 6-bolt rims, bumpers, fenders with dents but are solid, etc. or would still be a good project truck for somebody with the time and resources. Front and rear glass ok, both door windows are broken but all the mechanical parts are there. The engine is a 224" Commander 6 from a '48 Commander and has the overdrive transmission. It runs well with excellent oil pressure and very little smoke but the starter needs to be rebuilt. New points, cap, rotor, wires, battery cables and 6v battery. It will roll easily but has no brakes and will have to be flat-bedded. No title but I do have a Bill of Sale from the previous owner. Truck is located in Lawrenceville, GA, just NE of Atlanta. I have to move it out by May 7th, so time is of the essence. Buyer will have to arrange pickup. Non-refundable deposit of $200 due at end of auction, balance by cash, Paypal or certified check.
