Vehicle Detail

FOR AUCTION: One absolutely beautiful, Southern California 1967 BMW 2000C. Hands down, this is one of the rarest and most interesting cars you’ll ever see! Striking modern front end design, which was years ahead of its time. It’s classy, classic, and still totally unique. Car has a white exterior, blue interior, lots of wood, and chrome, chrome, chrome! Current owner has lovingly babied and restored this car for the past five years; car was in storage for a decade prior to that. So, the car has only been driven about 2000 miles in the last fifteen years. A total creampuff! BODY: The body is solid and the paint is in great condition. Body is remarkably straight. Fully functional electric sunroof. Also note the front-fender rearview mirrors, chrome door jambs, and pillarless windows (a neat feature). Rubber/moulding in great shape; as much of the rubber moulding that is currently available has been replaced. All glass and lamp covers are excellent as well. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION/SUSPENSION: Car has its original single carb, 100-horsepower 4 cylinder engine. The original automatic transmission was replaced with a rebuilt, 5 speed manual transmission and new clutch. (The original automatic was okay, but no fun. The car really comes alive with the five speed). Car starts in an instant, runs and drives like a dream. “Purrs” is more like it. All new front-end bushings, rubber, and rods. BMW mag wheels with Yokohama tires, full tread remaining. Disc brakes in front, drums in rear. Odometer reads 71,934 miles. Owner cannot guarantee that it has not turned, but from the condition of the car, I'd guess not. INTERIOR: The car’s interior is amazing; the design is so stylized. Original wood trim, original chrome, original headliner. Great shape. Front seats have been recently recovered and the car has new carpet. The only known interior mods are the addition of a Pioneer stereo and four Polk Audio speakers, and where the original in-dash speaker was located, the current owner literally made a true “glove box” replacement for the space. It’s so cool. ISSUES: Few and minor. Front grille chrome has minor dents at top alongside minor crack in paint; not very noticeable. Body has a few tiny door dings and a few tiny spots of incredibly minor finish/surface rust, easily repairable; the only readily visible one is nickel-sized on a corner of the trunk lid (see photo). There is a small dent on the roof due to a garage accident. Rubber around front driver and passenger windows is new BMW stock, but for whatever reason left small gaps on top, both sides, which is an issue that will need to be addressed before taking out in the rain or hose washing (see photo). Passenger side rear window is not working. Clock does not keep accurate time. BOTTOM LINE: This is a really cool, really rare, really unique car you probably won’t find again, especially in this condition. Owner has much more $$$ invested in the car than he is selling it for. Very reasonable reserve, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity! NOTE: While this car is in great condition, this is NOT A “SHOW CAR”, and is not being sold with that implication. This was purchased by its present owner to drive. TERMS: SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY, PLEASE. Please email any questions prior to bidding. This is a forty-five year old car. Any and all known defects/issues have been disclosed in good faith, so the car is being sold AS-IS with no warranty. Auction is seven days. Potential bidders may see the car by scheduling an advance appointment. Winning bidder must make a $500.00 deposit within two days of auction close, and full remaining payment within seven days of auction’s end. Funds (check, cashier’s check, COD) must clear bank prior to delivery of vehicle. Winning bidder is responsible for pickup and delivery of vehicle within two weeks of auction’s close. Seller is willing to assist with vehicle delivery arrangements, if paid for in advance by buyer. USA only, please. No foreign bids accepted. No zero feedback buyers. Seller reserves right to end auction early due to local sale. These reasonable terms are firm, so please do not bid if you cannot abide by them. Thank you for your interest, and good luck!
