Vehicle Detail
DescriptionAt The Sell It Now Store, we sell a number of vintage cars and trucks. You are looking at a 1967 Pontiac GTO Survivor with the original 400 engine. This is one of the cleanest original cars we have had for sale. The condition is very nice for the age and aside from one potential repaint and a few replacements parts, it is pretty much as stock and original as you will find. It has been babied and lovingly cared for. This car has a vin number of 242177K123546. We have the PMD documentation that goes with the car and proves this is a legit GTO. This car is a survivor. Note the original T-3 headlamps still in place. Scroll down below to see all the photos below. Please review them carefully before placing a bid. If you cannot view all the photos or would like to see larger photos, please click here. This car has had a long-term owner who has replaced the following pieces over the years:1 NOS GM windshield washer pump 1 NORS master cylinder cover 1 NORS upper radiator hose 1 NORS lower radiator hose 1 pair NORS blue rear floor mats 1 NORS roof rail weatherstrip kit 1 pair NORS front fender rocker panel trim 1 pair NORS rear window weatherstrip kit 1 pair NORS vent window channel weatherstrip kit 1 pair original standard exhaust manifolds 1 NORS hood pad insulation kit 1 pair NORS door weatherstrip kit 1 NORS hood to cowl weatherstrip kit 1 NOS Pontiac chrome right hand valve cover 1 pair NORS door pillar weatherstrip kit 1 pair NORS deluxe windowfelt weatherstrip kit 1 blue mesh package tray with felt (used) 1 extra starter and starter solenoid 1 NOS Pontiac passenger side headlight bezel 1 pair NORS outside door handles 1 NORS rear speaker housing 1 correct AM pushbutton radio (works) 2 1967 GTO framed limited edition art prints by Bill Harbort 2 pair original chrome valve covers (used) 8 reproduction exhaust manifold studs and nuts 1 pair NORS vent window weatherstrip kit 1 Fram PH25 oil filter 1 NORS air conditioner decal 1 NORS door hinge detent kit 1 1967 GTO assembly manual (reprint) 1 1967 Fisher body service manual (reprint) 1 1967 Pontiac service manual (reprint) 1 1966 Tempest remote control driver's outside mirror and standard passenger outside mirror (used) 1 pair NORS sunvisor bushings 1 ignition switch (used) The owner also has most of the old parts that were taken off of the car as they were replaced. Since he has owned the car, he has replaced the trunk weatherstrip, had the alternator rebuilt, had the starter rebuilt, new points, distributor cap, rotor, had the carburetor replated and rebuilt, installed reproduction High-Output/Ram Air exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust with HO/RA chrome exhaust tips, new spark plugs, new reproduction date coded spark plug wires, battery cables, turned the front brake drums, installed new brake shoes, new wheel cylinders, new brake hose on driver's side, new intake manifold gaskets, new thermostat, new heater and radiator hoses, new center link rod, had the front end aligned, new master cylinder, and a new water pump. All of this was done at various times over the years as the car needed it. The last time the seller checked the compression it was around 170-175# in all cylinders. The car has the original/correct "670" cylinder heads. It has a rebuilt engine and drive train, driven in fair weather only, ALWAYS garaged and stored winters at least after the first few years. This also has factory air conditioning but it does need a recharge as it does not function. The car has 60,000 original miles, runs and drives tight as you would expect. With some detailing, it would be an excellent candidate for judging. It really shows well, even with the older repaint. We have no easy way to validate the mileage as Wisconsin looks at the car as exempt from odometer disclose due to age. Cosmetically, the paint does have it's flaws as documented by the photos. It shows so well, we would leave the car as it is and enjoy it. However, it could easily be restored to new if desired. The car has probably not seen many winters. The frame is beautiful with signs of the original undercoating. The trunk is starting to get thin due to water (common issue) early in life. The interior is beautiful and appears mostly original. Note the original AM radio is included and it works. The GTO is an American icon. In 1967, it received a mechanical upgrade. The exterior was slightly altered. The front grille was changed to a chrome wire mesh. The side rocker chrome trim was widened and the fender emblem was moved onto it. The rear taillights and surrounding sheet metal were changed. The 1967 GTO could be ordered in three different body styles. The hardtop had no post between the front side and rear side quarter glass. The sport coupe had a pillar or post between these two windows. The convertible was the third body style that the GTO was offered in. The 1967 GTO's set of standard options included; bucket seats, special exterior trim (such as the hood scoop), 335hp 400ci engine (optional Ram Air) with chrome valve covers and air cleaner, dual exhausts, and 3-speed manual transmission.Current prices in the United States range from $7,500 for basket cases to upwards of $45,000 for nicely restored examples. In early 2007, a restored 1967 GTO sold at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction for well over $120,000. Consider the value of these down the road – better than the stock market. This would make a great addition for the Pontiac enthusiast that has everything, Best of all, there is NO reserve. Note this car is in the Appleton/Oshkosh area in Wisconsin and the successful high bidder should plan to pick the car up from that area. We will help coordinate the pickup with the car owner once paid. If you have questions about the car or shipping during the auction, we can be reached at 262-798-0600 and ask for Mike or Nichole.
