Vehicle Detail

1993 Ford Mustang LX Coupe. Original paint, no accidents, no problems. Only past problems were a minor radiator leak, repaired by a local shop, and mild throwout bearing whine - the latter was replaced as well as the clutch pack, fly wheel was machined/resurfaced. Oh: the battery was replaced. Otherwise it has be extremely reliable. I used it as a daily driver. Color is reef blue per Ford though is similar to teal. There is no fading nor oxidizing at all except for the flat back on the wiper arms and rear-view mirrors - I could have painted those though chose to leave them the way they are. All the rubber and seals are good, not sun damaged. The weather stripping is good except for some wear at the drivers lower door seal, worn from me getting in and out. It is damaged but still seals and does not pass wind noise nor water. Bought in 2007 from retiring, elderly engineer who bought it off of a lot new in Virginia - a copy of the original window sticker will be provided. He moved to my town and worked briefly in nearby offices. It was his garage queen and had 38k miles when I took it over. He just put on Dunlops beforehand. I had a replaced those with Cooper Zeons which were very sticky but had no life, and then with the BF Goodriches it has now, with some life left - hard to say how much as these wear much better than the previous. Tires for me are not about performance but simply to hold the car up, as my use is rather straight forward. I do not race it nor drive it like it can be; that is not my style - I am in my late 50s, and get mine by simply driving it around (very satisfying, with the torque it has), receiving complements often, and questions as to whether it is for sale or if the paint is new or it sounds great or what have you. It was entered in a car show once; I received many complements though no trophy. Always garaged. It gets 22-23 MPG between fillups - a 50-mile round-trip commute to work and misc. errands in town; I have gotten as high just north of 27 MPG between towns, doing the posted limit of 75 on the interstate; surprising for it being the performance car it is. The original seats were removed and placed in dry storage until recently; were substituted with FloFits (Saleen) and rear seat delete as I used the back to hold my fitness gear. Recently switched completely back to stock for this sale. Therefore the seats have low use and show it. The brakes are the original. I have a set of new rotors ready though those are far away from being needed; they will be included in this sale, along with a universal joint (the original had no play at 100k miles). Bearings were repacked by me once per year, along with the serpentine belt and air filter; oil changes as well using Motorcraft synthetic blend and Motorcraft filters. I had the best body shop in town install Maximum Motorsports' full-length subframe connectors; rear lower control arms, panhard bar, camber/caster plates, and shock tower brace by me. I also installed the Hurst shifter (OEM upper as the Hurst upper is too far forward for everyday use but it will be included) and Flowmaster cat-back exhaust (slightly deeper than stock but not unpleasant); the original stainless steel cat-back exhaust will be included and shipped or delivered separately, paid for by the buyer. Other than those items identified within this paragraph it is stock - the engine stock/untouched except for regular servicing. I suggest the buyer replace the struts and shocks when installing the next set of tires, along with an alignment; not that these are in need though it would make the suspension package tight and complete as Maximum Motorsports intended. Being an engineer and farm boy I like to tinker with things - make wise improvements; it rides better than stock. It has a low-profile trailer hitch to carry my mountain bike; once I did not mount it properly and one of the petals left a minor mark on the bumper. There are other common paint chips and other minor marks from use but nothing noteworthy. There is no rust as it is dry in New Mexico. I offered it to my son though he does not have a place to store it and shudders at leaving it outside. Otherwise it would be his as he likes it. Selling due to low use and priorities; my wife's recent passing - as such I have a different outlook on life. I'm approaching 60 YO and now need to consolidate what's left; motorcycles are gone, now it is one of her last wishes and that was to sell it and use our Toyota instead. I can deliver to your shipper in El Paso, TX or they can pick it up; you can fly into El Paso and I can deliver it there, or you can come by my place. Arrangements and shipping fees are the buyer's responsibilities. Or I can deliver to the southwest for actual-fuel costs plus actual return flight cost to El Paso - buyer pays these. No warranty implied nor given; sold as is. If you want perfection, please look elsewhere. If you will be using it irresponsibly, then do us all a favor and look elsewhere. If you want me to end the auction early, please look elsewhere. If you want to haggle, please look elsewhere. I've lost a big part of my life and have no time for any of the aforementioned. No reserve price; I believe what I am asking is reasonable, especially for the condition it is in - I set it thus for it to move sooner than later, and for someone who can appreciate it than sit in my garage. If it doesn't sell then that's fine too as I like it as is. On Apr-16-12 at 03:23:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Optional equipment: preferred equipment package 245A, which includes power equipment group, speed control, AM/FM cassette w/premium sound. Clearcoat paint, traction-lok axle, rear window defroster, and manual air conditioning. Windows have 3M tint, legal shade. No wheel curb rash. Comes with extra pony wheel and tire in fair condition; shipping extra, along with stock exhaust. Wheel weights not clipped on; self adhesive on the interiors only. Does not use oil between changes nor does it leak any fluids.
