Vehicle Detail
1946 WILLYS CJ2A 82115.....titled and tagged (title numbers match serial and body number) dressed up as a USA Army Jeep, it is not a military model... it is a civilian model Willys CJ2A. It would be great for reenacting military maneuvers, or just playing in the back woods, or make a great hunting vehicle as it has a heavy metal front bumper welded on, strong enough for a tow bar. (tow bar not included) Milage shown is not correct, don't have any ideal what correct mileage is, or how many times it has turned over. The GOOD... It has had the steering box rebuilt, bell crank bearing kit installed, all tie rods were replaced or tightened and there is no play in the steering, steering stabilizer shock, all new brakes, hoses, wheel cylinders, brake bands, new military steering wheel, all new wiring, new horn, all original gauges work except the gas gauge, new lights, dimmer switch, taillight/stop light, new military olive drab canvas seat covers on original seat pans, new olive drab paint, new 12 volt battery and alternator, new Solox carburator, previous owner had patched rust in floors with, what looks like fiberglass, it has four real nice M38 wheels on the ground with old 7.00 x 16 military tires with new tubes, the tires are very hard, I think a thorn would have a hard time sticking a hole in them, I am including in the auction a nice set of 4 - 31 X 10.5 tires on aluminum wheels (see photos) if you don't want to play army, extra gas can with holder, and MB bumperettes, original side mirror, does not jump out of gear, the engine has 120 to 128 psi on all four cylinders, starts by standing out side jeep and bumping the starter, has oil filter, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor bug, and points, shifts and runs in all gears. It is not perfect, it's not quiet, it's noisy and rough riding, after all it is 66 years old, military tires are old and weather cracked, but have new tubes and hold air great, it does mark it's territory a little, front and rear floor and tool box floor patched with fiberglass, doesn't look to good. I'm sure there are more good things and some not so good things I am forgetting about. I'll be glad to take more photos of any area you may want.
