Up for auction is a 1997 BMW Z3 with 2.8L I6 cyl. engine and automatic transmission. The cloth top was replaced less than two years ago so the new blue top is in excellent condition and looks sharp in contrast to the very glossy white paint. Also included is a silver hard top which is in equally good condition with no scratches, chips, or faded paint. All power/electrical features (both seats, mirrors, windows, locks, heated seats, A/C, etc.) function as they should. The engine is strong, the transmission is smooth and the stability control works great when the roads get slippery. Overall, the car is in good mechanical condition and I would not hesitate to take it for a long distance journey.The tires and wheels are brand new with less than 100 miles on them. They were replaced due to our summer tires/wheels being stolen while in storage over the winter months. Features not listed above: Power driver and passenger seat, factory CD changer, factory alarm, fog lights, HID headlights Included but not pictured is a hoist and cover for the hard top, complete and original trunk mounted tool kit, owners manual, original window sticker, three keys and two remotes. Things that need to be mentioned: Overall the body and specifically the paint is in very good condition for the car's age with no rust, dents, or significant scratches. What the pictures do not show is a repaired scratch above the fuel filler door and a small ding below the fuel filler door on the edge of the wheel well. Otherwise there are only very minor paint chips but less than normal considering the car's mileage. The only other thing to note is an occaisional and faint squeel from the engine sometimes on initial startup. I have all maintenance records covering the time of our ownership.Some of the normal wear and tear itmes that I have taken care of are the water pump, rear shock mounts, crankcase vent, and belt tensioner, spark plugs and fuel filter. This Z3 has been my wife's daily driver for nearly three years during summer and winter. It has been very reliable and most enjoyable! Feel free to ask any questions or request additional photos.
