1979 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Well…..Here is the FJ40 everyone asks me for. I own a FJ40 restoration shop, have owned more than 600 FJ40’s, this is the most rust free, most desired combination, best non-restored FJ I’ve ever had period. I bought this FJ from the original owner, he treated it gold, stored inside, meticulously maintained. I spent 2 months going through the entire truck to make it turn-key for the next owner. 79-83 FJ40’s with factory AC, power steering are the most desired period, with 83 being the most desired as only 30 were imported with those options that last year of production. I have 2 of those 30, but they are not for sale. The original 2F motor smoked a bit when I got it, so I rebuilt the entire motor, only test and tune miles on it. Original rebuilt carburetor, power steering. The original AC system is all there and works great. The axles are stock disc brake 3.73 geared, original 4 speed transmission and transfer case are perfect, new clutch at time of engine install. Optima red top battery, Rancho 2 in lift done correctly with 9 way adjustable shocks and steering stabilizer. This lift kit has the U-Bolt skid plates so you can’t drag the U-bolts. BFG all-terrain 33/10.50/15 tires on aluminum wheels. Warn XD 9000 winch, the bumper is braced for this winch, very nice install. This is the best driving FJ40 I’ve had, everything is perfect, will do 70mph all day. There is a Tuffy center console with a CD changer and tape deck with 4 speakers. The factory AM radio is untouched. There is a nice tow package setup with trailer light hookup. BODY This FJ40 is 100% rot/rust free, meaning no metal replacement was needed, all of it is rust free original. Of the 600 FJ’s I’ve owned, this is the best one period. This truck lived in the high desert of eastern WA its whole life; was stored inside and driven for recreation only. All the sheet metal is original to this truck; the doors are 1 finger open and shut. The paint is original; I have touched up a few spots that were peeling. You can still see all the factory spot-welds as proof no body work has been done to this truck. There are now 4 coats of wax to ensure the body stays rust free. I undercoat the chassis with POR-15 which is much better than the factory did it. If you have looked at FJ40’s you know 95% of them have moderate to serious rust issues, the most important thing when buying any FJ40 is getting the most rust free unit available, I promise you will not find a more rust free example short of a miracle. Overall this truck is in remarkable condition, it is turn-key ready for the new owner, every component works as it should. I’ve set this auction at no reserve bid to buy as I’ve not had an FJ this nice as an original and don’t know exactly where to price it, and have not seen one like this for sale on eBay for years. Most of it is original so please keep in mind there is a rock chip, slight imperfection here and there. It would be a shame to restore this as original is so rare. I’m open to 3rd party inspections during the auction, not after. I own Auto Appraisals & Pre-Buy Inspections so skip me when looking in the phone book. I provide an insurance appraisal with this vehicle. I’ve shipped FJ40’s all over the world; I have a shipping broker for the lower 48 that has gone perfect the last 60 shipments. I have a clean clear title in my name in hand for this FJ40. I require a $2000 non-refundable deposit via PayPal directly after the auction is over (no exceptions), the remainder bank to bank wire or cashier’s check only within 7 days closed auction. Vehicle only leaves my property when payment has been made and has cleared my bank. This FJ40 is for a serious collector, it is not going cheap, so please only ask questions if you are prepared to pay market value, needless to say it’s not going to sell for 15k on this no reserve auction.
