Vehicle Detail
Here is your chance to own a very unique piece of Americana! Do you remember when the ice cream man would come slowly, ringing his bell for everyone to hear? It was a great time in my life, how about your's?! I remember waiting for the sound of the bell and everyone running out to buy ice cream. On those real hot Summer nights, it was the only way we had to cool off! Maybe you have fond memories of your own about the ice cream man. This truck is generally in good condition. It was repainted about fifteen years ago and it still shows quite nicely. The truck runs and drives very well. The engine is the big six cylinder, I believe it is a 272 cu in, actually this engine was only used in trucks, as far as I know. The transmission is a three speed column shift, The clutch is good, the steering is responsive and the brakes are good. There was money spent on the engine for a rebuilt head, new water pump, tune up, belts, hoses and fluids changed and there was work done on the brakes, too. Since the repairs were completed, the truck has not been used. But, it will start right up and purr like a kitten! You can even unsnap the canvas top and make it a convertible! This may be just the opportunity you have been waiting for, a new business perhaps? You may want to use it as an attention-getter for an existing business, or maybe you would like to just drive it in parades, or bring it to shows and cruise nights. You might even make the coolest hot rod around. This truck will be fun to own and attract attention whereever it goes and whatever you do with it. There are a few things you need to know. While the body and paint look good and solid, straight and shiny, there are imperfections. The freezer does not work, but I have been told that it is repairable. If you would use the freezer only on special occassions, you could use dry ice. There are locks on the doors to the freezer and someone broke the key, however I do have interior pictures from all three freezer doors which I can email to you if necessary. Please be aware that we are talking about a truck that is forty seven years old and is not perfect by any means. As you can see from the pictures, the truck looks good. There are no major cosmetic imperfections. It is on display at a Lincoln/Classic Car dealership, in the showroom. You are welcome to come see this truck at Liberty Motorcars, Inc 798 Rte 3 west Clifton, NJ 07012. You may call 973 473 7800 ext 318 to talk with a representative about any questions, or concerns you may have. The reserve is very reasonable for such a rare truck, in my opinion. Since it is being advertised locally, we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The truck is sold AS-IS NO WARRANTIES expressed, or implied. It is your obligation to read the information, view the pictures, ask any questions, or come to inspect the truck before you bid. There will be dealership fees of $295 for documentation, title, temporary registration and FedEx, if required. New Jersey residents must also pay 7% Sales Tax. A $1000 Non-refundable deposit through Paypal is required at the end of the auction and full payment within seven days please! As much as I have tried to describe everything, your opinion may be different than mine. So, please look it over and bid with confidence. Thank you for reading my rambling and have fun bidding!
