This auction is for my 1983 Lotus Turbo Esprit. I am in the European auto repair business and this is my personal car. I have owned this car for 7 years. I have over $20,000.00 is repair and service receipts. The engine was rebuilt about 8 yrs ago at Auto Europe Lotus to the tune of $15k. The suspension has been rebuilt with new shocks springs and bushings. The transmission has ben rebuilt with new synchronizers. The brakes have been rebuilt as well. The cooling system has been updated. This car will run cool in August, in Texas with the AC blowing cold, in stopped traffic. The tires have less than 1500 miles on them. The interior is a solid 9 out of 10. There is no shrinking, cracking, tears, or abrasions. The paint is also a 9 out 10. There are a couple of stone chips and minor spider cracks at the tail gate. I have the euro spec springs, so this car is 42" tall and 72" wide. The unusual dimensions attract a lot of attention. This car is a show winner. This is an reliable exotic that could be daily driven. You can fly in and drive this car home anywhere. That is unheard of for a 29 year old exotic car of any make. In 1983 Lotus made 342 total Turbo Esprits. About half were sent to the US. Research figures show that there are only about half of those left. That makes these car among the rarest exotic cars from the 80's. In the 80's this was one of the fastest cars in the world. 0-60 times were 5.5 sec, quarter mile in 13.5 and a top speed of 150 mph. Still respectable figures today. I have too many cars right now. I have to sell a few. I have a euro '79 911, an '82 928 and an '03 Maserati CC coupe I would like to sell as well.
