This is a 1985 Jeep CJ7 Renegade that I bought from the original owner. He bought the vehicle new when he was 16 and I have all the paper work and receipts from the day it drove off the lot (including AMC window sticker and owner's manual). I bought it almost three years ago and I have been restoring it ever since. It has 56,336 original miles on it. Note: this is a project vehicle and is not currently driveable. It is, however, complete and needs relatively (by relatively, I mean relative to the entire project) little work to be road worthy. First picture is as it sits today. (The last two pictures are before pictures). With a project of this magnitude, there is very little chance that I will be able to list all that has been done and all that still needs to be done, so PLEASE ASK and I will do the best to answer your question. As it sitsToday: You can get a sense of the jeeps completeness by the first picture. The body is loosly bolted to the rolling chassis. The Engine is in, but still needs to have the exhaust and intake manifolds, wiring, vacuum, and other misc. items put back on. All of the interior needs to be put back in. The body, as it sits on the chassis, is empty. Again, I have all the interior components. Also, I have not put the transmission and transfercase back in yet. I have done nothing with them since I took them out. I have both front and rear drive-shafts (they may need new U-joints while they're out. Body: The body is very, very solid. The tub has a few dings and dents and a bit of light surface rust (desert rust), but it's as solid as they come. The doors have some rust around the hinges, but again very solid. There is a hard top with full doors, a new soft top with doors, and a bikini top. Chassis: The chassis has been wire-wheeled and painted with POR-15. I installed a new 4" Rough Country suspension lift, which includes new shocks, leaf springs, pitman arm, and steering stabilizer. I have also updated the body mounts with new 1" mounts. There are new tie rod ends and drag links. All new stainless fuel lines. Tires are like new (31" Cooper Discoverer A/T). New fuel sending unit. - Needs brake lines. Engine: 4.2L with 56,336 original miles. New oil pump, alternator, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, (new distributor cap, wires, and rotor), new plugs, new coil, new aluminum valve cover, all new gaskets and seals (including main seal, oil pan gasket, valve cover, and timing chain gasket). Interior: The interior is complete except carpet. All seats are perfect and padded dash cover is in perfect condition. Roll bar pad is complete and in great shape.
