Up for consideration is a beautiful and very well cared for Classic Ivory exterior with Palomino MB Tex interior 300SD. These MB luxury diesels will run forever when properly maintained as this one has been. A 1983 300SD is very hard to find in this excellent condition and fresh color combination. I looked the car over and under and to the best of my ability I could not see any rust, no bubbles in the paint no rust on the underside, wheel wells, bumpers, door jams or around any windows. I purchased this car two and a half years ago. I am the forth owner. DMV reports the first owner from 04/19/84 to 1993 was in Aspen, the second owner from 05/09/93 to 12/14/01 San diego, the third owner in Sacramento Ca 1/30/03 to 12/24/08. Documents on request. Registration is good for another year. I bought this car with the intent of fixing it up for my sixteen year old step daughter to drive. It would have been her first car, so my wife and I wanted a tank that would protect her and could carry her and all her friends’ safely. I had a friend look it over who knows Mercedes and he said the car needed a few things which I have listed below as WORK DONE. One of the more important things was that the engine had some blow by and he said eventually the engine should be rebuilt, so I had the engine rebuilt for about $1800 which was about a thousand miles ago, Then I thought it would be fun to be able to run the car on vegetable oil, because my neighbor makes his own Biofuel and offered to make extra oil for us for very little cost, so i had the car converted to a single tank conversion with all the bells and whistles by the owner of TRUE Earth Motors in Carlsbad California. The conversion cost around $1000 and I will describe it better down below. The company has since moved to Northern California and someone was trained by the owner to carry on with the instilation here in Southern California. I continued to do work and have work done on the car over the next few months until one day I got sick, really sick with Lyme disease and a brain infection from a mold biotoxin. So the weekend hobble of workng on the car had to end and I hired a proffesional mechanic named Tim to finish the work. So here I am in and out of hospitals, shuffled from one doctor to the next with crazy diagnosis like diabetes, heart problems, MS, Lyme, Chronic fatigue and on and on with mounting bills, Selling everything, even my house goes up for sale this month to pay for medical expenses, and with no real cure insight until recently. . . I am now in Texas at the Environmental Health Clinic of Dallas Texas where they seem be helping me. Thank God, I tell this to you just in case you know someone who has been battling an unknown and or miss-diagnosed disease like MS, Lyme, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, brain fog, heart problems and a whole list of other symptoms with no help. Well I have learned a lot and maybe I can help them by sharing my journey and knowledge with them. Enough about me, now about the car. Here is a list of work done by a professional mechanic who is a Mark Of Excellence AWARD WINNER from a Chevrolet Dealership in San Diego . His name is Tim and he is also a mobile mechanic. 1 . Replaced both front brake calipers due to the brakes pulling to the right when applied. Bled the brakes with new brake fluid until all the air was out of the lines. 2. Replaced the thermostat and o-ring seal because the coolant temperature would not come up as it should. A. also installed new coolant in the cooling system. Now the Temperature comes up half way on the dash gauge as it should 3. Traced and repaired the wiring to the cigar lighter. The wires had been cut to power the vegetable oil fuel System, and not put back on. 4. Repaired a small leak in the left rear constant velocity joint boot. No need to replace the whole thing, a thick plastic bag and hose clamps to stop the grease from leaking out was all that was needed. 5. Removed and replaced the ac compressor. Added pag oil To the new compressor. Charged the ac system with 2.5 Pounds of R134a refrigerant. The system cools to 45 degrees f. 6. Checked the heater for hot air flow inside the vehicle. There was no hot air. Tested for power and ground to the Heater control valve. Had both. Removed the control valve And found it was corroded. Cleaned the hot water valve and reinstalled it. Now there is hot air inside the vehicle. 7. Road tested the vehicle. Found it bounced around too much. Found one of the front shock absorbers was leaking Oil. Installed 2 new front shocks. 8. Installed a new section of heater hose at the t-stat housing that was leaking. 9. Replaced Master Cylinder. 10. The entire car was just gone over to restore the original paint to its original luster. The trunk was too faded to bring it back so I had it painted at the finest paint shop in all of San Diego where the whole cars finish was restored. Philip thearle's autowerks. http://www.ptautowerks.com/ All metal emblems were removed before painting. No taping was done. Three stage paint was performed. The cost was around $2000 and the car looks great! 11. Had the front driver’s side seat middle panel recovered and seat stuffed to make it super firm a year ago. 12. Driver side door lock with handle was replaced with brand new part from dealer, replacement cost was a stupid $350," just for a door lock!". 13. Brand new wheels from discount tires. Less the 150 miles on them. Under warantee. What doesn’t Work The Tachometer which only recently stopped. Could cost about $100 to fix. The interior rear passenger reading lights need new bulbs. The Dash has some small cracks which did not show up in the photos. There is a very very small depression, about the size of a silver dollar, , as if someone pressed their thumb into the quarter panel on the rear passenger side, which did not photograph very well . I have highlighted it in the scrolling pictures above with a star. V mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ??Description/ODescription/Options: Exterior: Classic light ivory (hellelfinbein) Code 623. VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A BRAND NEW, UNUSED "TRUE EARTH MOTORS" SVO/WVO/BIODIESEL CONVERSION PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED SO THIS VEHICLE IS RUNNING ON, AND HAS ALWAYS RUN ON DIESEL. THOUGH IT CAN BE FILLED WITH any FORM OF BIODIESEL/SVO/WVO AND WILL RUN AT ANY TIME IN ANY COMBINATION WITH DIESEL FUEL. You can be off the grid, not giving your money to oil companies, and leaving zero carbon footprint. True Earth Motors of Carlsbad CA do these SINGLE TANK conversions. The founder examined all of the conversion systems on the market that he could get his hands on. Some of them are quite well known. He took the best features from all the systems and combined them. He also added his own custom improvements to come up with the “True Earth” system. He has put “line heaters” on the fuel lines that extend right up to the fuel injectors. This is one of the main things that is lacking on all the other systems. YOU MUST HEAT THE FUEL AT THE POINT OF INJECTION! Most conversions rely on the hot water in the cooling system to warm and thereby thin the fuel before it gets to the injectors. The problem is that for the first 5-10 minutes that the car is running the water is not hot and is not warming the fuel. Therefore you are sending cold thick fuel to the cylinders and this damages the cylinder walls and leads to worsening engine condition, and eventual engine failure. That is why he has electric line heaters that will allow to warm up the fuel before starting the car. Only warm and thin fuel reaches the injectors. He also put another electric heater, filter, and water separator in the system, to insure the fuel is clean, warm and proper viscosity, before it reaches the fuel injector. The founder cares deeply about the environment and the cars. So this system provides a ZERO carbon footprint when it burns this vegetable oil, or any other plant oil, or even algae oil. He has converted hundreds of these cars here in SoCal. If you need Tech support I will hook you up with the company doing the same True Earth Motors Instalation who was trained personally by the owner of the company before he left. All in all, the car is very well maintained, the miles are very low for the model year and they are highway, pampered miles. Please bid with complete confidence on this vehicle, it is in beautiful overall condition and I have 100% positive feedback on ebay. Although several Mercedes-Benz models bore the S label from the late 1950s, the first sedan family officially named "S-Class" debuted in MY1973. Since then, it has been redesigned only four times. S-Class models have long been early pioneers of emerging automotive technologies. Initially overshadowed somewhat by the 600/Pullman sedans, the S-Class became the Mercedes flagship upon the Pullman's retirement in 1980, and remains so to this day (DaimlerChrysler's resurrected Maybach brand notwithstanding). Over the years, the S-Class line has been equipped with engines ranging from six-cylinder diesels to twin-turbocharged vee-twelves. S-Class models have primarily been sedans, although coupes were sold for some time before being spun off as the CL-Class. W126 is the bodycode given to the Mercedes-Benz S-class series, produced from 1979 until 1991. W126 sales were halted in 1992 for the US market. Mercedes-Benz South Africa continued producing them for some years, stopping in 1994. The car was introduced at the IAA in Frankfurt on september 1979. Most people did not appreciate the design right away. It's appearance differed too much from the rest of the Mercedes fleet at that time. The objective of the design team, lead by Bruno Sacco, was to produce a car that was sleeker, lighter and faster as opposed to the old W116 S-class it was meant to replace. Now, over 20 years after it's first introduction, it is clear they succeeded in designing and building a true classic. The W126 remained in production for over a decade and it's design still wasn't oldfashioned when production was halted in the early nineties The decision to give the W126 a more low-profile look than it's predecessor had been based on the fact that in the late seventies owning a big luxury car was considered self-indulgent and anti-social. The foreseen fuel shortages and rising fuel prices forced Mercedes-Benz to rethink their big-engine strategies and the 'Energy Program' was introduced Key words: Mercedes-Benz 300D 300TD 300CD 300SD 240D Turbodiesel WVO SVO Bio Biodiesel veg vegetable oil
