Vehicle Detail
This has been a project of mine for the last few years, tracking down OEM parts and polishing pieces here and there. My plan was to hang it on the wall in my house but my girlfriend said she'd leave if I do. I still haven't really made up my mind on that one but figured I'd list it to buy some time, lol. What I have done is completely strip it to a bare frame and hand polish the frame, forks, suspension, wheels, etc. I installed new bearings in the forks. I located NEW OEM factory honda front and rear fenders, upper chain guard, air filter assembly, seat cover, grips, all three number plates with all mounting hardware and brackets, and a few other small parts. I did a top end rebuild on the engine with a fresh bore, new piston, rings, and all gaskets. I rebuilt the carb with a new kit from Honda. I had the block, clutch cover, flywheel cover, head, brake drums, and wheel hubs glass beaded and painted clear. I liked the look but take a look at the pictures to see what you think. I had the seat cover done at a local shop and it's a 9 out of 10, not showroom but better than most I have seen. I was able to find a set of factory Bridgestone tires and they are new never riden it with them on. Overall it's a pretty nice example that needs a few things to be prefect or it would look nice in a collection as is. What it would need to be perfect are the lower chain guard, lower outer exhaust sheild, some work on the gas tank as it has some light pitting and two small dings, and the rear exhaust tip. I did buy a set of repo gas tank stickers but never installed them as I was thinking of having the tank rechromed. Anyway, you are welcome to come see it before bidding. You can E-mail me with any questions or give me a call (609) 694-7371. This is a No reserve auction. I made the mistake of adding up what I have in it and it's about 900 plus what I paid for the bike. My starting bid is the lowest I would sell it for so please don't ask. I am hoping for more but if it doesn't sell I will just keep it and look for a cooler girlfriend, lol.
